Thunderstruck!

Only 99 cents for a limited time!
By Taryn Kincaid

So I need to watch TV.  No apologies. I really, really, really need to watch TV.

Sometimes I come home from the job outside in the real world, with real people, and my brain and body are absolutely fried. I can graze Facebook a little, but only because I think I have to. My Twittering has drastically fallen by the wayside over the past few months because, essentially, I can’t keep up.  Sometimes, I can’t even play Spider Solitaire or Free Cell.

So…back to me and TV…. Now, in the dead heat of summer, there is absolutely nothing on.  This drives me nuts. Over the past two weeks, I have watched two On Demand movies that have the world “Quartet” in the title. I have watched two On Demand movies that have to do with people staging operas in the English countryside with lovely grounds and scenery. I know nothing about opera, you understand.

But I expect my DVR to be getting quite the workout again this fall.
Did you hear? FOX is coming out with a new TV series called Sleepy Hollow.  I am sooo there. The TV series looks all kinda dark and mystical. But somehow, I don’t think it’ll ever get as steamy as my Sleepy Hollow series.

Heat Wave, the fourth in the Sleepy Hollow series of hot & sexy paranormal 1Night
Stand stories is coming out next month.

To celebrate the Heat Wave release (and maybe some other good news about Sleepy Hollow to come), Decadent was gracious enough to reduce the Amazon price of Thunder, the second 1Night Stand book in the series, to the grab-it-now price of 99 cents!

So…grab it now! It’s a limited time offer, until July 27.
Here’s the link:  THUNDER on Amazon.

And here’s a blurb and excerpt. Happy Reading!

BLURB:
Lonely young witch, Veronica Hardwicke, has struggled to get on with her life after the death of the elderly husband who’d left her a fortune and a sprawling estate in mystical Sleepy Hollow. When frightening things go bump in the night on a stormy Fourth of July, who better to call than the sexy developer and contractor, Sean Jones, who's been renovating her mansion for months?

Sean may grace the tabloid pages with a different supermodel on his arm every night, but it's Veronica who drives him nuts. Ignoring his instinct to stay away, he answers her summons.

Will the thundering passion of their 1Night Stand tear down the barriers between them?

EXCERPT:
Veronica paced back and forth in the grand entry foyer of the Belmont mansion, the kitten heels of her Prada mules clacking on the marble floors.
The rest of the place might not be finished, but she’d insisted on having a few rooms completed, so at least she felt like she was living in a home, rather than a massive, never-ending construction project. Well, her contractor had insisted, even though working around the main entrance and central hallway created more work for him and his crew. But she was forced to admit he was right.
Her cell phone chimed on top of the antique credenza shoved flush against one wall. She leaped for it. Probably Geneviève, to regale her with all the fun she was having in Paris. Or Sean, to advise her he couldn’t make it after all. She sighed and read the text message on the small screen.
Congratulations, Veronica. 1Night Stand has found your date. Have a good time.
With both anxiety and mounting excitement, she stared at the screen and waited. No other info. Outside in the night, thunder boomed. She jumped then laughed at herself.
Ghosts are one thing, but freaking out at the weather now? Cripes, you really do need this date!
She let her imagination run wild, then texted back for more details: When? Where? Who?
An insistent pounding at the front door jarred her out of her fantasy. She swung the door open on another explosive crack of thunder.
Sean stood on her doorstep, his soaked T-shirt molding sculpted pecs and abs, his drenched hair flattened over his brow. Rain poured down as he fiddled with his iPhone, a bemused expression on his face. Behind him, jagged arrows of lightning tore the dark sky. He glared at the screen, glanced at her in confusion, then back at the screen.
Veronica’s own phone pinged again. Thunder roared. She read the message in disbelief.
   You’re looking at him.

Excerpt:
Her lips twitched in amusement. Already naked when he walked in the door from work, she had special plans for them that night. She checked him out from top to bottom and her mouth watered.
“We’ve been together six months now, and I thought we should celebrate.” She sauntered forward with a seductive twist of her hips until she stood close enough to withdraw his belt and work the button loose on his pants. “I’d like to introduce you to the three Js tonight. What do you say?” She rubbed the front of his pants and dropped to her knees before unzipping him.
“What are the Js?” He gulped and she trembled with excitement to begin their night of sinful fun. Brody thrust closer to her face and threaded his fingers through her locks to urge her forward. The gesture filled her with satisfaction. The time had come to put her plan in motion and to show him their first J.
“Well, first there is Junior….” She pried her hair loose and bent to the side to drag a small box closer, her head bent forward giving him a perfect view. “Then there’s Jewels, and if you’re really good, and agree to proceed, Jack will come along later.”
She grinned before pulling out some lube and a small plug from their naughty box. “First, meet Junior.”

Best wishes,

Dating a Dead Guy is Complicated

by Olivia Starke
I admit it, I’m a great big kid at heart, who never quite gave up on make believe. What a dull world it’d be if I’d given up the fanciful imagination I grew up with. That’s why I fell in love with writing at a young age, I could give a voice to my imaginary friends who were as real as the real ones I had.
As an adult, I’ve retained this ability to create friends from thin air, ones who’ll entertain me. One’s who never leave me bored, or lonely. And the fun part is that I now get to share them with others in hopes that they, too, will see their magic. This is what authors strive for, I think, to share their imaginary friends with everyone. Sure, we want to tell a story, but more than anything we want you to relate to those fictitious people the same way we do. Sometimes those friends go bad, but we gave birth to them, so we want you to see why they turned bad. Sometimes they are completely loveable, and we need you to love them, too.

Dating a dead guy would be complicated and complications were one thing she liked to avoid...

Samantha Perry expected a fun weekend in Vegas, what she didn’t expect is the hottie she wakes up next to after a wild night of drinking. Tall, blue-eyed, and all American, Jake is the epitome of male virility—give or take the fact he lacks a heartbeat. But sometimes even the living impaired need a little lovin’.

And Jake has a big surprise in store for Samantha…

Excerpt:
Some days it doesn’t pay to get out of bed, especially if you wake up with a corpse.
Her new companion had been the most watched man in the club, and Samantha Perry couldn’t help the sense of conquest when they stumbled into her hotel room. The room swayed and she had to clutch his shirt to stay on her feet.
“Watch out, baby.” His husky whisper brushed her ear, sending chills down her spine. “I think you’re a little drunk.”
She giggled. “You try walking in four-inch stilettos. I can barely manage these on the best of days.”
He chuckled. “Fair enough, but damn they’re sexy.”
Her hair clung around her shoulders, her blouse and jeans still damp. “How did I get so wet?” Her foggy memory offered no explanations.
“Such open ended questions you ask.” He captured her lips in a hot, distracting kiss. “So many answers I could give.”
He tugged the blouse over her head, pitched it aside, and placed his hands on her shoulders giving a gentle shove. She squealed, but luckily bounced, the bed breaking her fall.
She studied him, or tried to—her focus was a little off. “So what was it you were saying earlier, about the living dead something or other?”
Tugging her jeans off, he tossed them over his shoulder, drawing yet another giggle from Samantha. He gave her a lopsided grin. “You mean living while dead? We’ll have this discussion, but later.” He kissed her, his tongue pushing into her mouth, teasing her with short thrusts. “And I mean much, much later.”

Topic – Rope + Sex = A Good Time?

Buy Tied Down HERE

By Kacey Hammell
I think being tied up/down during sex – whether scarves, rope or ties for instance – is a powerful and liberating freedom that many enjoy.
Submitting to one’s partner, being on display, allowing them to show how much they wish to touch while the other is unable to resist or deter them from their journey… It’s a heady experience to be at someone else’s complete “mercy”, and it strengthens the trust between the couple.
How the rope touches someone’s skin – caressing, tight, sometimes even comforting – is sexy and powerful. And aphrodisiac, if you will, and adds to the baser senses. The inability to touch heightens the tension and desire for some. The helpless factor ramps up the sensations and it makes for a liberating experience.  With the passion and eroticism of the moment, there’s also a freedom of being tied up and surrendering. The freedom from everyday life, stress, and getting away from one’s own thoughts. Feeling completely alive to enjoy someone else’s care.

Not many people are willing to give up any control, such as Isabella in TIED DOWN, but it takes a strong man to show her the true person she is. He has to be in tune with who she is – as a woman as a whole – and know what makes her tick, what drives her and the best time to make “his move”. Brady loves his lady and will do whatever he can to fulfill all her dreams and desires…and his own!

Tied Down
The time has come for Brady Jacobs to grab hold of the woman he loves and their future. But his lady, Isabella Knowles, is skittish. She’ll bolt at the mention of a future with him. He needs to handle her with precise planning, tools to seduce and never give her a moment to flee.
Brady will tie her down, pleasure her, push her farther than she’s ever experienced…then ask her to marry him. But no amount of planning can ensure Bella’s answer won’t include the business end of her Glock.

Excerpt:
Isabella stirred at a tug on her ankle. She shifted, not in any way eager to wake up.
Snuggling her cheek deeper into the pillow, she sighed. The web of slumber curled around her as she relaxed again.
At the shuffle of footsteps and a thump, she stirred. Her eyes flew open and she lifted her head. As she shifted to her side, she gasped.
Why couldn’t she move?
Jesus, what the hell?
Danger screamed through her mind while she took in the room around her. Right where she’d fallen asleep, in Brady’s bed.
No need to fear for her safety. Right?
“What the fuck is this?” Damn the bindings around her wrists and feet. “Brady!” she screamed. She’d kill the bastard who dared to enter their personal space. Cripes, if he’s been hurt, she’d carve out their hearts and throw the bodies in the ocean.
“Brady!”
“I’m right here, babe.”
His head appeared over the foot of the bed. Her heart skipped a beat. Safe. Her head fell back in relief. She’d die if something happened to him. Could never relive him ever being hurt again. She’d barely survived once before when he’d been stabbed and almost blown to bits. She did not ever want to go through anything like it again.
“You okay, babe? These scarves aren’t too tight, are they?”
So lost in her own thoughts, she forgot she lay there, tied like some prisoner.
“What the hell? What’s going on?” He knelt at the end of the bed. She gaped as she took in her naked body, the scarves holding her legs and arms captive. Her heart rate accelerated. She had no control over any of this. Desperate to get out of the ties and the situation, she pulled hard, jerked her limbs to escape their captivity.
“Fuck! Goddamn it. Let me loose.”

5 Reasons I Like to See the End of Summer…

by Kacey Hammell

I know many would say, YAY the kids are returning to school (Sept 4 here in Canada) so what else is there to say? For me, it will mean a lot more writing time most definitely but I detest the routine of morning lunches, homework in the evenings etc etc. I like having the kids home to keep things always entertaining, and so the crazy routine is forgotten for a while.  End of summer for me (my household) means return of our fave shows. Here are my top 5 reasons to love the end of summer this year!

1.   REVENGE Returns!!! This show instantly became an addiction. I confess, while Jack and Daniel are hot (hell, as is the whole cast!), the fashion is gorgeous, the scenery is spectacular, it was Nolan Ross that kept me hooked! That dastardly, geeky sexy kind of guy, wealthy, mischievous – okay, vengeful and secretive – he’s the type of mystery I love. Plus his humour and devotion to Emily (with more secrets!) is charming and sexy. The added bonus of course is Emily getting answers/revenge against the Grayson’s is equally addicting. While I believe forgiveness is the best course of action, I have to say, I LOVE how Emily does it.

2.   SUPERNATURAL Returns – need I say more than just Jared Padalecki (Sam) & Jensen Ackles (Dean) ??  Castiel…Hell… No, I didn’t think much explanation was in order.

3.   GRIMM Returns (well already did about 3 wks ago) but love the spin on old fables and tales the GRIMM way. Plus the relationship between Monroe and Nick is amazing. The show weaves in some humour with the intensity of each episode.

4.   NCIS Returns – can you believe how things were left last season? Explosion, Abby & McGee seemed to be in the midst of it straight on. Ducky on the beach!! I plan to have tissues handy and try to keep the nail biting to a minimum when it returns. I can’t even begin to say what the demise of any of the main characters would mean to me. I mean, don’t you get the feeling when you watch a show every week/every year faithfully that the characters feel like old friends? I’m just hoping I’m not going to have to scream at the TV for anything the writers pull! I need my Gibbs & DiNozzo every week! The others too of course, but those are my top two.  And this year, I’d love to see Jamie Lee Curtis return!!!! *fingers crossed*

5.   HAWAII FIVE-0 Returns – Dylan, who was introduced in ILLUSIONS as Brady’s partner, is a tad bit modeled after Alex O’Loughlin from this show. I mean, how could I not? O’Loughlin inspires a lot of naughty thoughts and various scenarios to put him in. Plus the finale, where he sees his mother! I have to hear the story behind how she’s back from the dead!

But back to the more writing time. Yes, it’ll be quiet around here and Dylan’s story will really take off…along with the other 3-4 WIPs that are all battling for time.  However, be on the look-out for these THREE titles coming soon from Decadent Publishing and me.

Feel free to let me know what shows/adventures you’re most looking forward to seeing this fall.

And what will you miss most about summer?
