Omega's Heart

Omega's Heart

When the wolf is away…
Five years ago, Max Reaper walked out of Kole Silver’s life forever, leaving behind a broken omega.
Kole doesn’t believe in love anymore. He keeps to himself, leading a solitary life until stumbling upon an injured human, Jasper Hill. An instant attraction explodes between them, becoming an unbreakable bond. There is no choice—Kole must claim the man as his own.
When Max returns to take possession of what is rightfully his, a situation he’d never imagined greets him. Angry with himself and with his mate’s betrayal, he wrestles his wolf who demands he take action—to claim his mate. But will he be able to accept Kole’s new human companion, or will his mistake of leaving five years ago end up biting him in the ass?

Excerpt:
“Good morning,” Kole’s voice had him opening his eyes. The guy wore a pair of low slung jeans and a ribbed tank. In his hands sat a tray piled with food. Jasper’s stomach gave an appreciative growl and he laughed. “Well, I’m glad you’re awake and hungry. I made more, so you know.”
“Wow, thanks.” The bacon and sausage sat together on one side while scrambled eggs and hash browns filled the rest of the plate. “Do you have any coffee?”
“I do,” Kole grinned. “How do you take it?”
“Black and strong,” he said around a bite of bacon. “Oh God,” he moaned. “Deer bacon?”
“Is that a problem?”
“Hell no,” Jasper answered, finishing off the piece in his fingers. “I haven’t had deer bacon in years. I missed it. What’s the sausage?”
“Wild boar,” Kole replied. “I like to live off the land.”
“Fucking hell,” he groaned. “I think I’m in love.”
“Well, it’s good to know what they say is true,” Kole answered. “Give me a moment and I’ll be right back.” He left the room and returned minutes later with a mug of delicious smelling coffee. After handing Jasper the cup, he returned to his perch on the bed.
Jasper inhaled the piping hot brew and grinned. “Thank you.” He took a sip and sighed. The caffeine surged through him and mixed with the sugar of the juice, perking him right up. Taking another swallow, he prodded Kole. “As you were saying?” He continued to eat, gorging himself on the bacon and sausage between bites of potato and eggs.

“The way to a man’s heart is through his stomach.”

Character Interview – Craving Cameo

Good Morning everyone, I’m doing something a little different today. Usually when I do a character interview it’s only the main characters, but I have gotten so many requests from people wanting to know more about Cougar and Felicia along with Cricket, that I thought I would include the main characters of Craving Cameo in this short interview.
Since everyone has gathered with us, let’s begin.

Q: What was your first impression of Cameo when you met her?
Quade: Pure trouble wrapped in ribbons and dresses. I knew even when she was six she would be the death of me and she almost was. *A round of chuckles filled the space.* But, she was cute. Curious. Always gave me the biggest smile whenever she saw me and truth be told, she owned my heart from the moment she laid eyes on me.
Felicia: Her wit. *She looked to her friend and gave a small smile.* I remember walking into the auditorium to grab my dorm assignment and my freshman pack and there she stood giving some RA hell. The guy had at least six inches on her and about seventy pounds, but she didn’t care. By the time she walked away, she had her folder, key and a meal plan I’m not even sure she signed up for. *Felicia laughed.* The next time I saw her she was in class. We hit it off from there.
Cougar: My bar would never be the same again. *He sat back in his chair slightly and extended his legs. Folding his arms over his chest, he smirked.* I knew who she was the minute she stepped inside with Felicia. All I kept thinking to myself was; does Drake know about this? Do I have to worry about the Alpha trying to come in here and kick my ass? But, this girl can take care of herself. Don’t let her girly looks deceive you.
Cricket: *He gave a shy grin when he looked at Cameo.* I had to get to know her. I knew she was Drake’s babygirl, and I knew he would kick my ass if I touched her, but she is special, you know? *He sat forward in his chair and looked to Quade.* You know it, don’t you? She walks into the room and everyone stops to stare. It’s the craziest thing I’ve ever seen. To be able to call her my friend is the shit. I’m honored.
Cameo: You guys suck. Here you are talking about me and breaking down my tough girl rep. I should cut all of you.
But then the interview would be over. *Cameo curls her lip and growls.* Hey I’m just the interviewer. You’re not allowed to cut me.
Q: The bounty on your head Cameo, did you think it was a quick way for Quade to get in your pants?
Cameo: No. He let me leave. I figured it was Daddy’s way of bringing me home, because he didn’t like me being away from him. But, when we were attacked in the bar… *She let out a slow, shaky breath.* I knew it was real and we had to act fast.
Q: So you came up with being kidnapped by Xavier and Quade?
Cameo: Yep. Quade hated it—
Quade: Still do. I should paddle your ass later for even thinking of such a thing.
Cameo: *Rolls her eyes.* Anyway, I knew it would work. I just hadn’t planned for everything else.
Q: Speaking of everything else, how are you holding up after your father died?
Cameo: I have my good days and my bad days.
Quade: And when she’s having a bad day we’re all here for her.
Cougar: We’re family now. No way in hell we’d let her suffer.
Cricket: Besides Mari, Cameo is like our sister. We’re very protective of her. *He looked at me like the weight of the world rested on his shoulders.* Drake was a rare man, let alone, shifter. He did what he felt was right. Took care of his pack and instilled loyalty into his pack mates. His death not only left a hole in his daughter’s life, but all of ours too.
*A round of nods flowed around the circle we sat in.*
Q: So what’s next?
Cougar: I guess that depends on Felicia.
Felicia: There is so much to sort out. So many things I didn’t know about until now. Plus…I think someone is following me.
Cougar: What?
       Felicia: I’m sure it’s nothing.
Cricket: My ass, nothing. If we learned anything with Cameo, you never can be too cautious.
Cameo: Why didn’t you tell me?
Felicia: *She shrugged.* You were busy. Besides, I talked to my father who’s going to look into it as well. I’m more than sure it’s nothing.
Cougar: I oughta whoop your ass—
Okay, okay, it’s time for a little this or that, ready? *A grumble of yes’s filled the room.* Excellent.
Q: Chocolate or Vanilla?
Cameo: Chocolate
Quade: Vanilla
Cricket: Neither I want some cookie dough.
Cougar: Vanilla
Felicia: Chocolate.
Q: Staying home or Going out?
Quade: Going out.
Cameo: Going out.
Felicia: I learned my lesson. Staying home.
Cougar: Going out.
Cricket: Going out.
Q: Morning or Night?
Cameo: Both.
Quade: Both.
Cricket: Night.
Cougar: Night.
Felicia: Morning.
One more….
Q: Your mate or A random hook up?
Cameo: My mate.
Quade: My mate.
Cricket: Older, random hook up.
Cougar: My mate.
Felicia: *A sob fell from her lips as she ran from the room. Cougar was hot on her tail.*
Well, that didn’t end like I thought it would. Thank you all for doing this with me.
Cricket: You’re welcome, TL. How about you let me take you for that ride I promised you and I’ll show you what being a bear is about? *He winks at me and I giggled just a bit.*
I’m way too old for you Cricket.
Cricket: Then you’re perfect.

Blurb:
The daughter of the Sentinels pack and MC Alpha, Cameo Cruz moved across country to escape her pack—and the wolf she can never have. Making a new life, she embraced her freedom and went to school. One partying night with her best friend shatters her bubble of safety, and she’s forced to do the one thing she swore she never would…ask for help.
Quade Rainwater lives for his pack and the life the Sentinels Alpha gave him when he took him in. He’d do anything for them, even cut himself off from the she-wolf he’s loved for as long as he’s known her. When all hell breaks loose and someone puts a bounty on his girl, Quade will cross the country to protect her. Unfortunately for him, he’s the last person she wants to see.
All he has to do is keep her safe from the bounty hunters, the locals, and himself….
Excerpt:
“Why? Why are you here?”
“Do you really think I want to be here?” he asked. “Do you think I find it fun leaving my home to drive clear across the fucking country to find you? Huh? I don’t want to be here anymore than you want me here, but your fucking father—” He snarled and began to pace. “He’s losing it where you’re concerned.”
“Well.” She gave a humorless chuckle, turning away from him. “You can tell him I’m perfectly fine.” She wouldn’t give her father or him the benefit of seeing her fear. She’d take care of the other problem on her own.
“Little girl, don’t start.” He laid his hands on her shoulders, and she shrugged them off. “Don’t you know you have a bounty on your head?”
“What?” She whirled around and stared up at him.
“The other night when you called Hui, Xavier also found out about a bounty on your head.” Indifference seemed to coat his unreadable expression and words. “There are more coming. They’ll be here by tonight. We need to leave. If I can get you to your dad—”
“No.”
“Cameo,” he snapped. “This is not a fucking game.”
“You’re right. It’s not a game. I will not forfeit my life for some bounty. I’m staying.” She wouldn’t add he could stay and watch over her.
“Well, you’ve got two choices, sweetheart. Come with me or wait to be picked up by the guys who are out for your bounty.” He didn’t blink. He didn’t get angry, nothing.
“My answer is still no.” Crossing her arms, she arched a brow, daring him to say something to the contrary. She played with fire, knowing full well what might happen if she pushed him too far. Quade was not a wolf used to hearing the word no. His nostrils flared. His body tightened.
“Damn it, Cameo,” he growled, while taking a step toward her. “Why are you being so damn obstinate?”
She blew him off and pushed past him, crossing the room to her small fridge. “I’m sorry if I seem obstinate to you, but this is my life we’re talking about.”
“Is this because I wouldn’t give you the time of day?” Typical wolf. Always thinking with their penis.
“Not hardly.”
“What in the hell do you want from me?”
Want from him? She didn’t want anything from him. She hadn’t even wanted to see him again.
In two strides, he closed the distance between them and dipped his head. “Is this what you want?” He nuzzled her neck and groaned. “Tell me,” he demanded. “Do you want me to drop to my knees and beg for forgiveness? To tell you I’ve wanted you since the moment you turned eighteen?” His lips were only inches from her ear. His warm breath brushed against the shell, causing her to shiver. “You ran away from me.”
“Ran away from you? I left home so I could get an education and be someone better than a thug.” She grimaced inwardly when he flinched and withdrew from her. Quade wasn’t a thug, neither was her father.
“So, I’m a thug now?” He shook his head while clenching his fists at his sides. “Are you saying when you were on pack lands you thought so low of me…of your father and our friends?”
“Now you’re twisting my words.”
“Am I? Didn’t you say you left home so you didn’t become one, meaning we, the members of your pack, are thugs?” He cocked a brow, daring her to say something else stupid. Insert foot in mouth, dummy.
“Look, I didn’t storm into your home and pick a fight with you. So…so why don’t you leave?” Brilliant! Way to go you.
A dark sinful chuckle passed his lips as he pulled her to him, engulfing her in his embrace. “You never did know when to shut up.”
His lips slammed down on hers in a brutal kiss. He tasted of danger and excitement. Of raw masculine power. Cameo’s wolf preened, desperate to rub all over him and submit to his dominance. He swiped his tongue across hers, and she became a puddle of goo. “Would you like to know where my mark will go when I mate you?”

Getting to know the characters from Their Secretary

It is my pleasure to introduce to you, Piper, Tyce and Colton. They’ve agreed to sit down with me today and explain why they decided to take the leap and go out on a 1Night Stand date.

Good Morning, everyone! Why don’t you tell me a little about how you all met?

T: Well, see, it was a dark and dreary night and-C: Always with the wise cracks.
P: I think she means when you hired me. *Chuckles*

Well any answer would be great.

C: Tyce and I opened the office straight out of college. For a long time, we handled the whole load ourselves—
T: *Snickers* Load.
C: *Cuts his eyes at his lover* Anyway, when the company started growing, we knew we would need another person to help us out.
T: Piper was the second person who can in. *Smiles at their girl.* We knew she’d be the one.
C: She wore this polka-dot skirt and a white blouse—
T: With these pearls. For the first three weeks she wore them every day.
C: I think it was love at first sight for both of us.
P: *Blushes* Well, what they don’t tell you is that I was so nervous coming to work for them. I mean these guys made it on the Forbes list in no time. They have clients around the world, and I…I was just trying to find my way through this world.

Your story is interesting, Piper. I think it’s pretty admirable how you decided to be your own person. It had to be scary. What happened to make you choose to do so?

P: *Clears her throat* I couldn’t do it anymore. I couldn’t not be me. My mom was so strict. She had these schedules for everything. I swear if she could have put me on a routine for going to the bathroom, she would have. So, when I went away to college, it felt good to be free. To find myself. What I found out is that I didn’t like myself. So, I started over. I reinvented myself.
C: If she hadn’t, we would have never met her. I believe we were destined to meet. Like, kismet.
T: I agree. It felt like the stars aligned the minute she walked in our door. Everything seemed to calm down and we were at ease.

Awe. So, when you guys saw each other at the ball, what did you think?

C: Absolutely blown away. Piper’s hair was the biggest change. I kind of liked it. It added to the role play aspect of the night. Then the dress. Man. Madame Eve did something right with that amazing costume.
T: I’m just going to say it. She gave me a chubby. Not going to lie. My mouth watered. My hands itched to touch her. I couldn’t believe our Piper had, number one agreed to the date, and number two, made the Victorian Era look so good.
P: They looked amazing as always. I couldn’t believe Madame Eve used Dracula, but seeing the guys in there suits… *Giggles* We kept the costumes. We pull them out from time to time.

Kinky, you three. So, what’s next for you?

C: Normalcy. I think I want to just settle down and cultivate this relationship we’re starting. I think after everything that’s happened we deserve a little quality time.
T: I think we should take a vacation.
P: Someplace tropical with fruity drinks. When can we leave?
C: Well, as a matter of fact… *Pulls out the tickets* How about starting now?

Well, I guess we’ll leave these love birds to themselves. Find out how it all begins. Pick up your copy of Their Secretary, on February 18th! Until then, check out the blurb and excerpt from their book.

Blurb:
Piper Collins is out of love and out of time. After witnessing her bosses’ affection for one another, she resigns her position and decides to start over. But before embarking on her new life, she decides to give 1NS and Madam Eve a chance to show her what she could have had, if only she were braver.
Business partners, Colton Shaw and Tyce Stewart have been lovers for years. But something’s missing from their union. Their beautiful but shy secretary has been watching them day and night, as though she were a love struck puppy. However, their plan to bring her into their relationship backfires. Not only will she not join them, she runs away heartbroken.
With Madam Eve’s help, they want to prove once and for all she is their girl—the third to complete them. Can Colton and Tyce convince Piper of their love, or will they lose the girl of their dreams forever?

Excerpt: The horn honked in an annoying pattern, and she had to get going. She took a deep breath, let it out, and picked up her luggage. Stepping out of the apartment building, she apologized to the cabbie for making him wait and placed her stuff in the trunk. If she was committed to going on this date, she might as well make the most of it. Of course, she could open her laptop and cancel everything at any point before she went through security—or even after—but some part of her told her she needed to go through with the date. Who knows, you might find your Prince Charming. Or at least have a bit of fun.
Fun. A three-letter word she knew little about. Her existence consisted more of working and proving herself than any actual fun. Piper’s father and mother demanded perfection her whole life. They lived in the richest part of Manhattan, had drivers, more money than they knew what to do with, and had raised her to be a socialite, but she’d never fit their mold. She wasn’t perfect.
She needed to lose weight. Stand taller. Go to a better school. Get a better degree. Her mother’s words rang out in her mind. A proper lady should fit into her clothes as though they are a second skin. Her job, if she has one, must be in a respectable profession such as law, medicine, or perhaps finance, and her home always kept in pristine condition. Instead of following the path laid out for her, she’d used her time in college to plan her own future.
By her sophomore year, she’d given up reliance on her parents’ money, using scholarships and work-study to pay her tuition and expenses. She studied day and night, and, though she had no social life to speak of, she gained her independence. Piper took pride in the ability to provide for herself and to make her own decisions without worrying about what society would think.
But at the same time, her pride kept her from what she craved. If she wanted something meaningful from Colton and Tyce, she needed to swallow her insecurities and tell them exactly what she wanted…them. But her sense of self-preservation kept her from opening up. Memories of the day she witnessed their embrace filled her mind once more. In her fantasy, she placed herself between them. They turned, eyes filled with adoration, heat, and lust upon her.
She couldn’t make out their murmured words, but the pure emotion of what they said filled her with warmth. From her toes to the top of her head, she vibrated with such need she could scarcely hold herself still. Her panties damp from the intense throb of anticipation flowing through her, Piper shifted from foot to foot, trying to ease the ache. What held her back from asking Colton to pleasure her? What stopped her from placing Tyce’s hand between her thighs and showing him what she wanted? In her mind, they stood frozen in time, waiting for her to make the next move.
You can do this, Piper. Take the final leap and lay it out there for them.

There's something brewing in the Big Easy

Available HERE
Good October morning to everyone! This morning is an important one for me. You see, while I sit here drinking my coffee, (milk and three sugars) I am a little speechless quite honestly. I wanted to submit to Decadent Publishing for a long time. I read over the submission calls, checked out the cover art, what the quality of the books were, and if my body of work would fit with the authors currently working with publishing house. After doing that for months, I took the leap. My stomach dropped, not because I was rejected, but because I had finally convinced myself I was just as good as any of the authors at Decadent, and I would fit in. (That pep talk wasn’t pretty, FYI)
So, I asked for a fairytale.
I thought it would be the easiest way to introduce myself to the company. I mean, who can’t take a fairytale, add a little flare, retell it, and make it hot? *Raises hand* Oh, I got cocky. Honestly. I told myself no matter what story they gave me, I was going to own it and transform it into a work of art. It would be spicy and sensual. It would have everything the instructions requested and then some. I wanted to wow everyone. I wanted to throw the MS down on the imaginary desk, and yell BAM! Magically, of course, I would get a contract within two days. (I’m ambitious sometimes. What can I say? I’m also ADHD, so that’s where the whole BAM-thing comes from.)
I had this. I told myself that while I waited for the fairytale choice to hit my inbox. No matter what, I was going to rule this story. And then, The Three Black Princesses arrived in my email with the reminder of, ‘you have six months to complete the task.’ (No pressure.) First of all, I had never read this particular Grimm tale, but I figured it’s the Brothers Grimm, what could possibly go wrong?
The Three Black Princesses is a three-paragraph story about a boy who is kidnapped and sent into slavery. His father is given six-hundred dollars for him and he becomes the fishing village’s mayor. Anyway, the boy escapes and heads to an enchanted castle where he meets the three black princesses. They agree to help him get home, but he must promise to help set them free, so they don’t face eternity locked up in castle. The boy agrees, and he’s sent home. While he’s sitting down to dinner, he tells his parents about the princesses and how he plans to help set them free. His mother tells him you shouldn’t do that. In fact you should pour holy water on their cheeks. The women are ‘tricking him.’ So, the boy heads back to the castle and does as his mom says. The princesses scream and cry and tell him they are cursed to stay in the castle for all eternity and while the castle is crumbling, he jumps out the window and breaks his ankle. The end.
My self-confidence took a nose dive. I read this story three times, trying to pick the story out of it. Trying to find my angle. I wrote three plots. I’d get ten thousand words in and it was like walking through sludge. I had huge plot holes and parts just didn’t connect or make sense. So, I went back to the drawing board. Finally when I read the cliff notes on the story (yes, there are some. LOL) I found the plot.
My story is in threes and wholly symbolic. It’s a ménage. I have three bad guys who are dressed in all black. The Three Princesses is a bar in New Orleans. I have Sabine’s father in it, and there is a bad guy who pays the father money for his daughter. The guys, Kyle and Stuart live by the riverfront as well. It’s pieces of the whole. I wanted a story that would quickly grab your attention and hold it as the book played out.
There are several twists and turns throughout the story and a couple of times I surprised myself. In the end, I was proud of the product I sent in. I don’t think I have ever been so anxious about a submission in a long time. Why? Because, I really wanted to write for Decadent Publishing. I wanted to be counted amongst their talented pool of authors and I was little intimidated—which is perfect for how I work.
I have a little bit of a competitive streak. So seeing how great everyone’s books are, or what they’re coming up with, pushes me to be the best writer I can be. So, without further ado, here is the blurb and excerpt from Saving Their Princess. I hope you enjoy it.
Also, I will be giving away a copy of my Beyond Fairytale, as well to one lucky person!

Available at Decadent Publishing and Amazon Pre-Order!

Kidnapped
Sabine Babineaux, daughter of the mayor of New Orleans and waitress at The Three Princesses bar, is snatched from the street after a late night at work and knocked unconscious. Waking in a cage, Sabine is determined to escape and take the other women in the basement lair with her.
Stuart Renwick and Kyle Novak, detectives with the New Orleans police department, are assigned a kidnapping case with multiple victims. However, when one of the missing women, Sabine Babineaux, arrives at their precinct, injured and terrified, they take the damsel in distress under their wings and into their home. But the gallant detectives find their princess a big temptation. What will she say when they tell her they like to share?
Can they work fast enough to find out who the kidnapper is and bring them to justice or will they take more victims or come for Sabine again?
Will Sabine survive long enough to explore her feelings for both detectives? Or will Stuart and Kyle fall at the hands of her kidnapper?

Excerpt:
Pressing her palm to the wound, she got up and started running again. Sabine could hear the footsteps getting closer to her before another shot rang out. Bystanders turned in her direction, craning their necks to see what the commotion was. An excited thrill rolled through her. Surely someone would come to her rescue. But if she thought the pedestrians walking around her were actually going to step into the fray, she had another thing coming. Sabine came to the lip of the alley as people passed in front of her, not even bothered by her predicament. Others threw her dirty looks, giving her a wide berth.
In front of her, not more than two hundred feet away, sat a cab by the curb. Behind her, the man’s footsteps grew loud, causing her to cringe at the sound. If she was going to get away, she needed to go now, but the pain was excruciating, and she felt woozy as hell. Each step would take all of her concentration and strength. One more step. You can do this. You can’t go back. Her mental pep talk pushed her on until she was only ten feet from the car. Her hand reached out for the handle, and she pulled it open. Sweet relief filled her.
Freedom.
“Police. Please.” She wheezed, leaning awkwardly against the seat. “Please go.” Frantic, she looked up at the man in the driver’s seat. “Please hurry before they take me.”
“She’s going to get away.” She could hear the goon getting closer to the car, and she broke down crying. The man wasn’t going to move. She was going to be taken back to her hellhole.
“Please, sir. Help me.” She twisted in the seat and saw how close the men were. “They’ve kidnapped me.” Whatever trance the man had been under broke, and his gaze shifted to hers, widening as he noticed she only wore a bra and panties.. “Thank God.” She sighed. “Police, please.”
The man blinked several times then stammered. “Y-you need a hospital, not the police.”
“No! They’ll find me in a hospital. Police! Just take me to any station. I don’t care where.” Sabine lay down on the seat and closed her eyes. The sweet air of the city caressed her, wrapping her in a blanket of comfort. She knew she should be scared by the amount of blood she was losing, but she couldn’t muster the care to worry. She was free; that was all that mattered.
The cab came to a stop some time later, and she sat up. The world spun on its axis. The sound of bees buzzing filled her ears as she broke out in a cold sweat, and she began to shake violently. Sabine tried in vain to make her body cooperate with her, but it was a no go. Her brain was muddled, and nothing made sense anymore. Not even her body would oblige her and move.
“Where am I?” Sabine whispered, licking her lips.
“The lady is right here,” the cabbie said, opening the door. “She’s bleeding and wearing next to nothing.”
A thread of embarrassment slid through her, but as quickly as it was there, it was gone. “Help me,” she croaked. The world around her was slowly floating away. No matter how much she tried to keep her eyes open, she couldn’t gather the strength needed to do so.
“I…can’t…go…back.” Unconsciousness, blissful yet scary, drifted around her, cradling her in a void of nothingness.
“No, you don’t, sweetheart.” A gruff voice called to her, drawing her out of the darkness. “Come back to us.”
Sabine’s eyes fluttered open then shut again. She didn’t want to open her eyes. The darkness was safe. It was comfortable there. There was no pain. No cages. Freedom lurked in the darkness.
