Shifting Hearts

Shifting Hearts
Book 1 in the Wiccan Haus Series

By Dominique Eastwick

The last of his kind…
Rekkus is the last of the great Black Tiger weres, and he’s happy to stay that way. Working as head of security for the Wiccan Haus, a magical spa for inner healing, he has enough danger to keep him busy. Unfortunately, the Fates are not content with him being comfortable.

Alone and discouraged…
Dana has walked away from everything—her fiancĂ©, family, job, and apartment. A stay at the Wiccan Haus may be the only way she can move on. But what she finds isn’t what she expects, nor is it what she thought she’d been seeking.
If they can open themselves up they might discover that being together can be better than being alone and learn that passion can burn in those who least expect it.

Meet the unusual residents of the Wiccan Haus.
The staff can get a little hairy, and not all of the guests eat what’s served in the dining hall. But the Rowan siblings do what they can to make the resort a place of healing and peace, using all of their years of practice. At the Haus, where humans and paranormals reside side by side, everyone in need of the services are welcome. If some happens to fall in love then all the better.

Welcome to the Wiccan Haus

“It’s not safe for you here with me. I left you alone last night, but, if you stay, I’m not sure I can honor a request to stop a second time.”
“I felt it, too,” she blurted, unable to keep it to herself any longer.
Rekkus moved so fast, she never saw him actually take a step. Strong, wet arms wrapped around her, and her breasts pressed against his chest. His eyes searched hers. He must have seen what he searched for because his lips were on hers with feverous desire before she formed another thought, demanding she open for him. And no part of her considered denying him anything. Butterflies churned in her stomach until she shook. In all the years with Frank, and it had been a great many, she’d never felt this, like fire threatened to engulf her.

Dana wound her arms around his neck, running her fingers through his damp hair and deepening the kiss. His moan allowed her to gather the nerve and strength to urge him forward. He forced her past her comfort zone into accepting the sexy seductress screaming to be let out. She knew what he most desired because she wanted it too. Wanted him, all of him, every naked inch, right there, next to the lake, not even a ten-minute walk from the Haus. Anyone might stumble across them, and she didn’t care. It almost added to the allure of having him. What she needed it to be.

School isn’t out for the Summer…Yet!

By Brandy Walker

It may be time for the kids to get out of school for the year but not at Shifter U. The students at the shifter only college are still chugging along trying to make it through the year some having a better time than others. Changing Her Tune Book 2 picks up the story we caught a glimpse of in Shifted Plans. Tess Flanagan, the angry and humiliated band student we met briefly, is finally shaking it all off. She no longer spends every free moment locked in her room shunning the population around her. In fact, her perky cheerleader housemate has convinced her to head out to the Wash & Wait Laundromat on a late night laundry run. Granted she promised there wouldn’t be anyone else there but promises like that can never be kept.
I loved diving back into the Shifter U world and seeing how everyone was doing. There’s glimpse of Avery and Declan. A look into Blaire’s life. And of course a run in with the sexy Braun brothers.
If you haven’t read the first book, Shifted Plans, now is a great time to grab it. For a limited time it is $0.99 on Amazon! Come and discover Shifter U – Home of the Lions, Tigers, Bears…and more.
GIVEAWAY: One lucky commenter will win a copy of the first book Shifted Plans, just answer the following question in the comments.
What kind of classes would you expect to see at a shifter only college?

PURCHASE NOW: All Romance eBooks | Amazon | iTunes | Google Play | Kobo

BLURB:
Men suck…
Tess Flanagan is determined to make it through her final year of college even if it kills her. After months of hurt and humiliation thanks to her ex-boyfriend, she’s finally shaking off her anger and pain. Her future holds promise—or it did until a new guy, the star receiver on the football team, mistakenly thinks her roommate is his mate when it’s actually her.
One tiny mistake…
Big man on campus, Austin Shaw looks forward to a promising career in the Pro-Shifter Football League. He has an awesome life—hot women, great friends, and a loving family. But when he scents his mate, his “perfect game” gets thrown off.
More than meets the eye…
Austin soon finds out it’ll take more than a sexy grin and big personality to get Tess to talk to him. She’s nothing like the woman he knows, and there’s something going on just beneath the surface. Can ROAR help them discover the true path to happiness?

Wolf on a Leash

 by Virginia Nelson

Halloween may be over, but if you’re anything like me, that doesn’t mean that your craving for something magical has abated in the least. I’m a huge addict of two supernaturally spiked shows this season and my whole week is often framed around my fangirling over those two shows.
For one, I’m a huge Walking Dead fan. I love me some zombie carnage and more importantly, I’m fascinated to watch the characters as the seasons go by to see how they grow and change. I mean, lots of shows and movies show us a post-apocalyptic world, but few manage in the way of the Walking Dead to show how living in a constantly stressful world, of watching everyone you know and everything you know fall away…
Carol for instance? A girl I go to school with and I were just talking after class about Carol. I identify with her more than any character on that show. Some say she’s gone batty, completely flipped her lid, but I don’t think so. She started out the zombie apocalypse as a mother, tied into an abusive relationship because she was a mother and she had a child to care for. We see her lose the husband and be the only thing standing between her child and death and, by this season? She’s lost her child. She’s lost her world. She has nothing left to lose, so yes…she’ll make the tough calls. She’s got nothing left to lose, so she’s not afraid. Having been at a point in my life before when I had nothing to lose? I have to say I get where she’s coming from.
I also adore with a sick addiction I can’t even begin to put into words the show, Once Upon A Time. The blending of magical with reality…of someone trying to make sense of the fact she’s little more than a Disney princess when her whole life has sucked? Fascinating.
I think that’s why I love the paranormal genre. We get that little bit of magic that only those kind of shows and books can offer alongside the gritty reality and character development we see around us and feel every single day.
I have a new paranormal story coming soon from Decadent. It will be part of the Black Hills Wolves series, but I twisted in a few elements of BDSM (my main characters are members of a dungeon and that’s where they meet) and it was, as always, fun for me to find my very own way to weave magic with reality.
What is your favorite magical television show? Oh-oh, and even more important…witches, wolves or vamps?

Wolf on a Leash blurb:
Longtime submissive, Patch Williams, never quite finds the release she seeks. When a new Dom comes to town, offering play she’s never tried before, it’s a battle to give into the pleasure he offers while keeping her wolf nature a secret.
Home from overseas service, Kennedy Laurie realizes a few things about himself—he only gets off when a little sadism is involved, and he’s terrified of going too far, getting lost in the play. Patch might be just the submissive he’s been dreaming of.

Patch recognizes the call to mate…but with an out-of-towner? Her body demands for her to submit, to tell him everything, but can her Dom tame the Wolf on a Leash?

Virginia Nelson believed them when they said, “Write what you know.” Small town girl writing small town romance, her characters are as full of flaws, misunderstandings, and flat out mistakes as Virginia herself. When she’s not writing or plotting to take over the world, she likes to hang out with the greatest kids in history, play in the mud, drive far too fast, and scream at inanimate objects. Virginia likes knights in rusted and dinged up armor, heroes that snarl instead of croon, and heroines who can’t remember to say the right thing even with an author writing their dialogue. Her books are full of snark, sex, and random acts of ineptitude—not always in that order.

You Can Have Too Much Wildlife

 By Dena Garson

When I began working on Your Wild Heart, I realized my heroine, a Wildlife Biologist, would be spending a lot of time outdoors. It made me stop and think about how a single woman, working alone, might go about keeping herself safe and, quite frankly, reasonably comfortable.
I’ve camped outdoors a few times, but each time I was with family – never alone. It seems to me there are quite a few factors to consider. First – safety – not only of yourself but also your stuff. As a scientist, I would think she would have a few pieces of equipment that she would need to secure. If nothing else, she’d have a laptop to record data. Not that pen and paper wouldn’t work! But, we’re going to assume she is a modern day gal and has a reasonable appreciation of gadgets.
Since she planned to be in the area for about a week, I would think she’d want a comfortable place to sleep and take her meals. Someplace free of bugs and slithering reptiles. In my book, that rules out the hard ground.
From personal experience, I’ve learned that keeping food not only stored properly (i.e. cold) but also free of bugs and wildlife, is a challenge in the woods. Tossing a plastic bag of chips or hamburger buns on the ground –even in a tent– doesn’t work. At least not for long.
After researching camping supplies I came to the conclusion that if my girl frequently made these types of trips she would probably make the investment in a small travel trailer. Nothing large or overly fancy. It would definitely need to be something she could setup and maintain on her own but also provide a degree of protection from the elements, wildlife and, quite frankly, from other people.
It’s amazing how many options are out there! You can get something that sleeps one or two all the way up to eight or ten!
By the time I found the perfect vehicle for my heroine, I was in the mood to go look at the darn things myself. I have two boys and the idea of having something to take weekend trips to the lake during the summer holds a lot of appeal. Now if I could only win that big lottery…

About Your Wild Heart:
Wildlife biologist, Isabelle Acker, meets sexy park ranger, Wyatt Powell. His Wolf sits up and takes notice of her, but when he learns why she came to the park, he becomes wary of her intentions. After all, as far as the general population knows, there are no wolves in the Black Hills.
Ordered by his Alpha to keep an eye on the smoking-hot biologist, Wyatt finds it difficult to keep his hands to himself. He wants to possess her, to share everything about his life, but that might endanger the Tao Pack. But the attraction proves too great and, unable to deny his Wolf, he takes her with a passion he didn’t know he possessed.
However, their sexual bliss is short-lived, and on the night of the full moon, more than one secret is revealed. When all is said and done, they must each decide—is what they have between them true love or just hot sex?

Excerpt:
A moment later, a dark-haired woman stormed into the room. The door slammed against the wall as she headed straight for their trauma bay. Her bright blue glare fixed on the boy, and her lips were set in a thin line.
Annoyed, Bastian stepped in front of her. “Miss, you can’t be in here until I remove the bullet from his stomach.”
She faced him and narrowed her eyes. He swore he saw a slight color shift before she glanced away. “He’s my son, and he can’t be here.”
Forcing himself to calm down, he held her narrowed-eyed glare. “I’m afraid your son may need surgery.”
“He can’t stay here,” she repeated, shaking her head and darting her gaze to the door.
“Your son has been shot.” He kept his tone low. “I can have a nurse show you to the waiting area.”
The muscles in her temples flexed as if she clenched her jaw. She glanced around, fixing a stare on the few people within listening distance, then returned her gaze on him. The blue in her gaze brightened slightly, confirming his earlier thought of seeing them change. What the hell? The double doors to the ER opened, drawing his attention to a large man stalking down the hall, ignoring the staff as they tried to stop him. When the kid’s mother turned to glare at the newcomer, Bastian swore her pupils reflected the lights.
The man had dark brown hair, a shade lighter than the woman’s, and he stood at least three inches taller than Bastian. His navy-blue eyes narrowed on Bastian as he spoke to the woman. “Alanna, grab the kid and let’s go.”
“I ran into a situation.” She spoke through her teeth as she locked gazes with Bastian.
The man leaned in and whispered something into her ear. She shook her head. “Can’t.”
“Damn it, Alanna. I’m going to get Cody.”
When he stepped around her, she blocked him and placed a hand on his chest. “Go wait for me in the truck.”
They stared at each other for several long moments, and Bastian wondered what the deal was with the two of them. He shook his head. Not my business. “Look. Both of you can have a seat in the waiting room. I’ll come out as soon as I have word on your son’s condition.”
The man glanced from him to Alanna and smirked. “I’ll be out in the truck. You two have fun.”
“Cody comes with us. You will allow me to take him and won’t remember we were here.”
Enough with the shit already. He stepped into her space to stand almost nose-to-nose with her. “This is my ER tonight and my rules. I will operate on the kid and will not allow him to die on my watch. Are we clear?”
One side of her full lips lifted. “Oh, I’m starting to see things much clearer. I do apologize for this.”
Before he could ask for what, she slammed her palm to his forehead and everything went dark.

EXCERPT:
He reached out with his Wolf senses. The feedback froze his fingers on the doorknob. Female. Damn, she smelled good. Human. Wolf. Wait…both? The copper tang of blood hit his nose. And injured.
He flung open the door. His abrupt move caught his visitor off guard, one small, white fist raised to knock. The woman startled and fell forward. Catching her, he pulled her inside, kicking the door shut with his foot.
She sagged against him, a shivering bundle of wet woman. Underneath the dampness, her scent drop-kicked his gut. Apples and cinnamon. Roses and honey. His body perked up, taking extreme notice. He fought the growl of possession threatening to tear out of his throat. Holy hell, had his potential mate just walked into his home in the middle of a storm?
The scent of her blood jump-started his brain into action. He lowered her gently to the floor. “Jesus. You okay?”
His instincts urged him to check her for wounds, but he was a stranger and didn’t want to spook her. But goddamn, he wanted to touch her. Peel off her wet clothes. See all of her. With a jacket covering her torso, tight jeans hiding her legs, and her ball cap pulled low on her face, all he’d seen so far was her quivering pale chin, full red lips, and those delicate, trembling hands.
“S-s-sorry, d-dripping all ov-v-ver your f-f-floor,” she said, teeth chattering. Her snow white fingers curled on the hardwood, arms trembling with her effort to keep herself upright. Blood streaked the wood. A line of liquid crimson slid down her jaw and dripped from her chin onto her jacket.
To hell with propriety. “You’re injured. Let me help you.” He pulled off her cap and damn near swallowed his tongue.
Big green eyes blinked up at him from a face so pale it made him think of moonlight. Drenched, short black hair lay plastered to her head, the ends framing features reminiscent of the fairies his sister loved to draw for the hidden-object games she designed. Ethereal beauty. My beauty. He stroked a knuckle down her cheek then ran his thumb over her soft, full lower lip.
She flinched and batted his hand away, falling to her side in the process.
Ross snapped back to reality with a healthy hit of guilt. “Shit. Sorry.”
His gaze shot to her forehead where a two-inch cut sent blood trailing over her prominent cheekbone with its silky-smooth skin he’d so enjoyed caressing—
Shit. He gave himself a mental ass kicking for scaring her. “I’m Ross. You’re safe here. Promise.”

Fresh Starts

by Chandra Ryan

When I first heard about the Black Hills Wolves, one aspect really struck me. I mean, the series as a whole really appealed to me, but one particular bit hooked me more than the rest. It was that Drew would be giving this pack a fresh start. Since my family had just moved halfway across the country to embrace our own fresh start, I really connected with the idea. When I started writing my story, I wanted to make sure I held true to that desire. Everybody needs to have a fresh start from time to time in his or her life. Even if everything is smooth sailing. It opens new doors and provides excitement, and—as my characters probably realize—some stress and growing pains.

Blurb:
Aimee Crest is the prissiest, most stuck-up Wolf Jackson Cooper has ever met. The woman has a temper that would send sailors running and enough emotional baggage to keep a shrink in business for a lifetime. A Wolf would do well to steer clear of her. And Jackson would be happy to do just that—if it weren’t for one little thing that makes her irresistible to him. She’s his mate.
It’s a fate Aimee didn’t ask for and one she’s not at all happy about. She doesn’t want a mate. More to the point, she refuses to accept one. Even if that mate happens to be tall, muscular, and damn good with his hands. He won’t be able to seduce his way into her heart. She won’t let him.
But in this battle of wills, there is no middle ground. Somebody is going to have to surrender.

About the Author:
Being from a rather nomadic family, Chandra Ryan loves to travel and meet people. But she’s found that sometimes, like when you’re stuck inside because of a good old-fashioned Southwestern heat wave, you have to make do. Fortunately for her and her loving family, who don’t like seeing her suffer from cabin fever, she’s found creating new people and places equally as fascinating. Also, you’re a lot less likely to spill your ice tea.
