Christmas in Freewill Christmas Eve, the Diamond Saloon is empty of its people, and Pearl la Monte has a hankering to retire early. A pounding at the Diamond’s door rids her of such a fool notion. Her irritation rises when she sees the prissy, polite-like Garrett standing outside. Ethan Garrett has a powerful need to gain succor. When the saloon’s voluptuous redheaded singer scowls at him from the threshold of the Diamond, he doesn’t stop to think on how his ire at her has disappeared. Or how he just wants to spend some time in her company. When a blizzard storms in, trapping them, will they spend their time arguing or find their irritation for each other disguises something more?

~ Excerpt ~

Turning on her heel, Pearl marched off toward the stairs. A weird kind of panic jolted through Ethan, one he’d never felt before in all his days. It was…he didn’t…. She couldn’t leave him.
“Where are you going?” She whirled to face him, her irritation plain. “I was seeking my bed before your arrival, and now I’m seeking it again. Help yourself to whiskey this one time. I got better things to do.”
Shoving to his feet, he strode to her. “Don’t just walk away when we’re discussing things.”
“We ain’t discussing nothing. You’ll be down here, waiting out the blizzard. I’ll be in my bed, doing what I was gonna before you arrived. That’s the end of it.” Taking a step, she made to leave him. Again.
He grabbed her arm. “Don’t leave me.”
“Don’t tell me what to do.” Glaring at him, she stood before the bar, her magnificent hair slipping from its pins, her breasts rising and falling. Abruptly, his mouth went dry.
Clearing his throat some, he said, “You’re supposed to offer succor to those in need.”
“We’re closed, remember?” Paint-less lips pressed tight together, she glared up at him. They were so close he could see the faint marks of freckles on her skin. Pearl La Monte had freckles. A kind of haze came over him, tightening his skin and bringing with it something all-fired powerful and completely unstoppable. All the years he’d known her crashed through him, all the times she’d flirted with him and meant something else, all the times he’d seen her perform on stage and wished he could have held such fire. Grabbing her upper arms, he hauled her against him and, ignoring her shocked gasp, he covered her mouth with his.

Madame Eve Comes to Freewill

Coming Soon!
By Camryn Rhys

We all knew it had to happen someday. It was too delicious an opportunity to pass up. Madame Eve and Freewill? Destiny!

Our Western Escapes town of Freewill, WY has been teeming with love stories, and they have been magnificent. From sheriffs to jewelers to chefs, we’ve seen them all fall in love. And the Gaines family has been in the midst of their own love bug. First Jamie, then Mattie… and now, the hot cowboy. Paul Gaines.

Aptly so, I’ve decided to host a Cowboys & Cocktails release party (link: http://camrynrhys.com/?p=150), which will be in full force starting today, and all the way through the end of June.  After all, what goes better with hot men than hard liquor? Nothing. That’s right.

So today, I’m going to share a little bit about this upcoming Western Escape/1 Night Stand crossover, and then let you guess what cocktail I think most represents the hot, hunky beefcake of a man that has stolen my heart. That’s right. Paul Gaines.

If you’ve been reading Decadent’s line of Western Escapes books set in Freewill, WY, you’ll know that Paul has been quite a favorite with the ladies. But since his antics almost ruined both the love prospects and professional prospects of his sister and her fiancé, Paul has amended his ways. His brother Brady (yummo!) gave him an ultimatum, and it finally stuck.

But Paul wants one last hurrah. A no-rules one-night-stand in Vegas. Far from his brother’s watchful eye, and far from the repercussions he seems unable to avoid.

So now we get to the fun part. Paul’s cocktail. What is it? You ask. Well, you. Before I reveal it (on the WE blog, very soon), I’m going to let you tell me what you think Paul’s signature cocktail should be. What kind of drink do you think Paul will be making for his blonde goddess, Sylvie Proulx?

Remember the rules of Cowboys & Cocktails… post the cocktail recipe or a picture of you drinking your own signature cocktail (Tweet it to me: @camrynrhys or hashtag #CowboyCocktails) to be entered to win the grand prize. And come to my blog during release week (the last week of June) to find more opportunities to win.

I hope you enjoy Paul’s story, and his cocktail. Happy reading… and drinking! J

Gaines & Losses blurb:
Sylvie Proulx has a very proper, professional life, where every second is scheduled and mouthful of food carefully documented and exercised away. But a woman has needs. So she discreetly requests a 1NS date from Madame Eve, only to be paired with a free-spirited cowboy from Freewill, Wyoming with a thing for steak.

Paul Gaines needs a sponsor for the national rodeo circuit and travels back to Vegas to seek out a meeting. He needs a date to the fancy party, and calls on a dating service he's known for a long time, expecting a night of fun and companionship. But the more he discovers about Sylvie, the more he wants to cover her in creme brûlée and teach her how to ride a horse.

Only Sylvie has very careful boundaries, and Paul only has one night to convince her to give him a tomorrow.

A Western Escapes & 1NS (One Night Stand) Crossover Novella from Decadent Publishing.

Are YOU the newest shooting star for Western Escape Romance?

Shooting Star Writing Contest

Have you ever wanted to break in your own cowboy…or cowgirl?
Riding the range, herding cattle, running a ranch…it’s all there in Freewill, Wyoming…and more, waiting for you to come write your heart’s story. If you like a sexy cowboy in a Stetson and low-slung jeans, he can be found in Freewill’s contemporary setting. Or, if you prefer the rugged hero in chaps, camping next to an open fire, and riding into a small start-up town to re-supply, he can be found in Freewill’s historical setting.

With Freewill being a long-established town, rich in history, gunfights, jumped claims, and love lost, it is the perfect setting to have your hero or heroine travel back to the past to experience it personally…and perhaps find the soul mate s/he has always longed for. Shifting from a modern age to a time when lights didn’t burn at the flip of a switch and indoor plumbing had yet to be invented might very well prove for some interesting moments for your characters. But then, why only go back in time…but hurtle your sexy hero forward to modern Freewill. Imagine how someone from that time might view computers and cell phones… Either way, a time travel romance set in Freewill, Wyoming, could very well be the story you’ve been longing to pen. Now all you have to decide is which time periods your hero and heroine will choose to spend their happy ever after in.

If you have a set of characters in mind (either contemporary or historical) and need a western setting to let your story unfold, then Freewill is the perfect place. If sexy, rugged cowboys, and beautiful country girls get your blood pumping, then consider this friendly town. Whether your hero lassos a calf, wild horse, or hot-tempered heroine, these wide open spaces leave plenty of room for your characters to breathe.

Freewill is full of possibilities. Put your mark on the town with the perfect business or help create its history/future in other ways. Even if you're just passing through, Freewill is the perfect to start a romance. After all, it was founded on the idea of free will and free imaginations. Indulge yours and create a romance that will put a little sizzle in this small town and make a lasting impression. Freewill is waiting for you!
