If you think about it, most shifters are
portrayed as being dark haired. Maybe it’s the image of the wolf that comes to
most people. When writing my Black Hills Wolves story “Claiming the She-Wolf,”
I went to the light side.
The proposal for She-Wolf describes Yas
as: “(white moon) Pale man in nature. Physically, can the city slicker survive
the wild?”
As a white wolf, he doesn’t obviously
blend in with the surroundings of the forest well. (That is, unless it’s
wintertime and there’s snow.) Plus, as an outsider to the small community of
Los Lobos, he doesn’t blend in a different way.
Tala, in contrast, embodies the
strong-willed, raven-haired beauty that’s immensely attracted to this stranger.
Sparks, and paws, fly. Get ready to meet
the newest wolves of the Pack.
Claiming the She-Wolf
Black Hills Wolves
When her older brother leaves the Black
Hills to go to college, Tala Graystone stays behind, determined to restore
their dilapidated home into a B&B for the pack. As more people return to
the area, the need for temporary housing increases. Now, if only she can find
someone to help with the heavy lifting.
Yas Collins fled Los Lobos as a child with his mother. As he struggles with his wolf and overpowering shifts, a desire for nature and the forest strikes hard. Black Hills, South Dakota, beckons him. With a background in construction, he easily finds work at Tala’s dilapidated B&B, but not everyone in town greets him with open arms.
As the remodel gets underway, Tala and
Yas fight their growing attraction. Yas doesn’t trust his wolf urges around
beautiful B&B owner. The she-wolf, however, has other plans.
