Which natural disaster frightens you the most? Hurricane, tornado, earthquake? It usually depends upon what geographic location you live in, and what you’ve experienced.

When I first heard about the Prepper Romance line from Decadent Publishing, I featured it on my blog. I also noticed the subjects dealt with mostly phenomena in other areas of the United States – not California. Growing up in the Golden State, I’ve lived with earthquakes and the possibility of the “Big One” my entire life.

You can plan for an earthquake, just like you can prepare for any type of natural disaster. But, can you really? Can you think about all the various contingencies? What could possibly happen, and what can go wrong?

That’s part of the magic of creating a fictional world – the what if. And ultimately, the scenario must go wrong. For shy Kayla, “go wrong” means getting trapped in an underground bunker with a “flighty” rock star. Honestly, I’ve got a thing for rockers. The idea of being isolated with someone who can entertain musically is attractive.

Let’s hope they escape … unscathed.
