A little voodoo never hurt anyone…or has it?

by Donnette Smith

What if you were the only person on earth who could stop the world from being destroyed? These are the harrowing odds homicide detective, Logan Payne must overcome in my latest thriller novel, Cunja.

But it isn’t just any ol’ villian Payne sets out to defeat. No, we’re talking a seriously disturbed dead guy here, who has the power of voodoo in his corner.
Our noble detective is anything but. He has his own demons to fight. And that ordeal gets a whole lot more complicated when hott as hell newsreporter, Pricilla Hart comes on the scene. The woman is in his face, pushing the boundaries of his resistence over a thin line, getting in the way of the biggest murder investigation of his career.

Could things get any worse? Of course they can. And let me tell you…they do in a shocking way.

In fact you’re not going to believe what happens...

But I can’t tell you, cuz that would be cheating. You’ll just have to find out for yourself. Cunja makes its debut on 9/11. You’ll definitely want to delve into this one. Trust me.

In celebration of the release of Cunja. I will be giving away a free copy. So, leave a comment here. I want to hear all about your favorite detective stories.
I welcome you to visit my website. You can read a little snippet from the pages of Cunja. And learn how the idea for Cunja came about.

See you there…

Cunja blurb:

News reporter, Priscilla Hart, is guilty of using her charm to con Detective Logan Payne out of privileged information for a homicide story she’s covering. But when the killer attacks her, she’s forced to turn to the same man she swindled and beg him for protection.

Helping Priscilla is the last thing on Logan’s mind. He’s more interested in getting her to confess she fabricated the assault to get closer to her sources again. But as the case heats up, he finds himself torn between giving in to the his smoldering desire for the attractive reporter and distancing himself so he can focus on the biggest murder investigation of his career.

The predator’s trail leads to the unearthing of a mysterious medallion and an ancient Cajun spell known as Cunja. As the clock of doom winds down, Logan discovers the woman he loves stands at the center of a sadistic voodoo priest’s plan and saving her is only the tip of the iceberg.

Favourite detective stories? How long do you have?? There are so many. I'm going to pick just one - Mark Billingham's Tom Thorne. I wish I could write complicated plots!!!

Harlan Coben's character Myron Bolitar but that's probably because anything written by Mr. Coben rocks!

Sounds like a lot of responsibility for one person.
