By Cassandra Dean
A wonderful
thing happened this month – I celebrated three years published! However, being
the slack slacker that I am, I only celebrated this in my head. For shame,
Cassandra. To rectify this, I thought I’d chat a bit about it now (about two
weeks after it happened *shakes head ruefully*)
So, on 16
July 2011, my very first book was published. ENSLAVED was a labour of
love, a story that exploded into being in one intense weekend. Starting off as
a short story, ENSLAVED
was accepted by Decadent Publishing and then began the editing, editing that
saw the short story of 16,000 words grow to a short novel of 45,000.
TEACH ME followed, a story
near and dear to my heart. It was the first book I finished, and follows my
most favouritist of tropes, Beauty and the Beast.
The Diamond
Series was next, ROUGH
DIAMOND and FOOL’S GOLD.
A foray into the old west, I’ll be capping the series with EMERALD SEA (once I
find the time to write it!)
The Silk
Series followed, tales of law-loving peeps and their true loves. A five-book
series, the first two books, SILK &
SCANDAL and SILK &
SCORN are now available and I’m working on the third in the series, SILK & SCARS.
I’m so
privileged to enjoy this career and celebrate three years on this journey. So,
to celebrate, I’m offering a giveaway! Enter via rafflecopter to win an ebook
copy of ANY of my Decadent Publishing titles. How super cool is that?
Finally, and
most importantly, I’d like to thank you all for journeying with me. Here’s the
the next three years and many more.
Cassandra
XX
Cassandra grew up daydreaming, inventing
fantastical worlds and marvelous adventures. Once she learned to read (First
phrase – To the Beach. True story), she was never without a book, reading of
other people’s fantastical worlds and marvelous adventures.
Fairy tales,
Famous Fives, fantasies and fancies; horror stories, gumshoe detectives,
science fiction; Cassandra read it all. Then she discovered Romance and a true
passion was born.
So, once upon
a time, after making a slight detour into the world of finance, Cassandra tried
her hand at writing. After a brief foray into horror, she couldn’t discount her
true passion. She started to write Romance and fell head over heels.
The love
affair exists to this very day.
Cassandra
lives in Adelaide, South Australia.
