Interview with The Milkman

Buy The Milkman Cometh HERE
Today I’m interviewing Kate Richards about her “Edge” book, The Milkman Cometh. An Edge story is sexy, manytimes kinky and preferably takes the reader somewhere they haven't been before. They have sex earlier than in erotic romances, and more often.

Now about the Milkman Cometh:

I love the opening of the book! The milkman who wants to be a city slicker and not a country boy. And he really seems to like his job. Tell us, has Roberto had any other encounters with the housewives of Los Angeles County?

Oh, yes. Roberto does share some of this in the story, but he’s quite the playboy. Of course, he didn’t have any reason not to…at the start.

My, it must get hot there during the summer! Okay, so I see Roberto does make deliveries – special deliveries, wink wink - on his route. And he’s already noticed Alicia’s tempting green eyes. Tell us, how long has she been fueling Robert’s fantasies?

Since the very first time she bent over to pick up her milk and he noticed the sweet curves under her less than tightly-belted robe. She didn’t mean to share, and was quite embarrassed afterward, but Roberto was interested in seeing so much more.

It looks as though Alicia has noticed Roberto as well! What’s her secret plan? Why does she choose him? Where does she get the courage to put her plan in motion?

Alicia is tired of being the subject of gossip just because her husband has left her for someone else. She’s lonely and hurt at being abandoned by her friends. She doesn’t understand why he did her wrong and all the other wives treat her like a threat. So…if she’s going to be accused of something, she might as well have the fun!

Do they share sexual tastes? Are they a good match? Or is Roberto naturally a good match with every woman?

Roberto is, shall we say, gifted. He is capable of making many women’s carnal dreams come true. But his heart is not engaged until he meets Alicia, which also makes him an even better lover, since he desires to please her so much more.

Alicia is very emotional in this story. It’s as though a dam breaks. What has been holding her back all this time? What finally frees her?

It’s the 1950s, things are a whole lot more conservative and women’s roles more defined. She left her home and family in another state when her husband brought her to SoCal. Against their wishes. She is absolutely on her own, and her job ‘housewife’ went out the door with him. It took a while for her to process, grieve, and finally gather the courage to live her life as she chooses, but you’re right, once she does, watch out!

And Roberto changes too. It takes a lot for the sexy milkman to walk away from his long-time route. What makes him want to do so?

He doesn’t feel Alicia would appreciate his chatting with all his conquests on a daily basis, just being a considerate guy.

If you could go back and visit them six months later, what kind of sex would they be having? Can you describe it?

Ever heard of a key party? Roberto is not a saint, and Alicia is definitely cutting loose. While I am not saying that they would participate, you never know about these wild and crazy people once they get their guard down. And even if they don’t I have it on good authority, Roberto’s nephew has been even more of a run-around man than his not too much older uncle.

Thanks for letting me get to know Roberto and Alicia! I had a great time and know other readers will too.

Thank you for inviting me to stop by! I’d like to offer a copy of The Milkman Cometh to one of your commenters, if you’d like to close your eyes and select one at random.

Blurb:
Roberto’s reputation extends far beyond his efficiency as a milkman. He also provides intimate services to the many lonely ladies along his route. But he’s had his eye on a lovely divorcee for quite some time. One who has ignored all his flirting, so far.

Alice is ready to make a fresh start. Treated as the tract harlot, just because she’s on her own, she’s ready to make that name a reality. And she’s going to begin with the handsome milkman who has let her know on several occasions that he’s ready to deliver.

Roberto is playing with fire—a fiery redhead whose surprising innocence may steal his heart and leave the ladies of his route unsatisfied once again!

Feels Like the First Time

Buy The Virgin and the Best Man HERE!

There’s something magical about romance books.  Romance genre readers have their own reasons for what that magic is. For some, it’s watching the love develop. For others, it’s falling in love with the hero or heroine while staying true to your own significant other.

It doesn’t matter if it’s a billionaire playboy, a sweet governess, a sexy foreigner, a cowboy, or even a sparkly vampire. What matters is how many heart palpitations you get when you read the story. I have the Flutter-o-meter. If the story makes my tummy do this weird fluttery thing, the book is a keeper!

But one of the favorite themes in romance is THE VIRGIN STORY. Okay, so we don’t need to get down and dirty about our first time here, but it’s fun to see someone else experience their first time.  I’ve read all kinds, from sweet, to poignant, to rough and tumble. Doesn’t matter…the first time is the one we remember!

Nobody tells a better VIRGIN STORY than Kate Richards. Starting with The Virgin and the Playboy, one of the very first 1Night Stand stories at Decadent Publishing (and still selling like hotcakes!), the sequel is finally OUT!

Welcome The Virgin and the Best Man!

Mark and Julia from The Virgin and the Playboy have set the date! They are to be married at The Castillo Las Vegas, where they met on their 1Night Stand. All their family and friends are invited and they have planned a special surprise for their maid of honor and best man.

Karin, Julia’s cousin, a small town librarian, chose family obligations over her dreams of the stars. She loves them all, but wonders when it will be her turn to live as she wishes…if it isn’t too late.

Ray, commercial pilot, is every bit as much a playboy as his brother Mark used to be. He isn’t opposed to finding The One, but fears his brother has collected the only perfect jewel.

What more appropriate gift for these two than a 1Night Stand with a date personally selected for them by Madame Evangeline?

So tell us what your favorite romance genre /subgenre is!  Anything goes (keep it clean though!) and help give Kate even more inspiration for her next VIRGIN STORY! One lucky commenter will receive the ebook of their choice from Kate’s backlist at Decadent Publishing!

A Day in the Life of Kate

by Kate Richards

I start every day early, as most of us do, with the responsibilities that come with being a romance writer and wife. Because we work from home, and often don’t get dressed until the witching hour (half an hour before the husband pulls into the driveway), we are regarded as people with plenty of time on our hands. How many of us cringe when our friends—still prisoners to the evil “day job” say “Now that you don’t work anymore…”

So, for everyone who would like an insight into our glamorous lives, I thought I would share a little of my day. I am also an editor as well as doing a few other book related things, but it pretty much works the same for most of us.

Noon  Wake up and ring for my faithful attendant. Enjoy my coffee and freshly baked croissants. Plan my day. Perhaps I will work on my work-in-progress for a bit, maybe have a late lunch with my author friends, but I don’t want to call too early. The late night parties and galas we attend leave us exhausted and not everyone is an early riser like me.

NOOOOOOOOO, Okay here’s the reality.

6:00 a.m. Stumble out of bed, head for coffee pot (prepared the night before) and hit Brew.
6:05 a.m. Take freshly brewed coffee to my home office/guest room and plant nether parts in chair. Write, edit, market, social media, etc.
Noon Stand up and stretch. Take advantage of standing to visit restroom, throw a load of laundry in washer, sweep kitchen floor, make sure pets all have water, feed parrot, take chicken or something out of the freezer to thaw, take out trash and dust something. Pour Diet Coke with ice.
12:15 p.m. Back in chair. Without Diet Coke. Head back to kitchen for soda and take advantage of standing up to move laundry to dryer, put away dishes, and wipe off countertop by toaster which contains crumbs invisible to everyone but me.
12:20 p.m.Butt in chair…you guessed it. Dash back to kitchen for beverage.
12:22 p.m.Butt in chair. Work.
3:00 p.m.Starving! Go to kitchen, make sandwich, refill beverage, and start dinner. Fold laundry.
3:15 p.m. Butt in chair.
4:30 p.m. Yet another break! This one to finish cooking dinner—or figure out to do with what has already burned up—and shower.
5:00 p.m. Eat dinner with husband, switch to laptop and join him while he watches crab fishing, pawn shop show, or some other guy reality show while I…work.
9:00 p.m. Husband goes off to bed, I gain control of the TV which makes an excellent backdrop to writing!
Midnight Wake up on the couch, laptop still on lap, and stumble off to join husband in nice, warm, cozy bed.

I think my day is pretty typical for an author who is lucky enough to make it her main job. Yet, laying it out doesn’t express the joy of the day. Every minute I am writing, I am flying through other worlds, leading the exciting lives of my characters as they meet, fall in love, and face the difficulties of any couple (or more) that love one another and want to be together. And I get to work with the fabulous authors of the 1Night Stand Series and The Edge, adding even more romance to my day!

Then, when that’s all done, I get to crawl into bed beside the man of MY dreams. I wouldn’t trade my life for anyone’s and it’s because of readers who are willing to buy my books and share my characters’ lives that this is possible. Glamour…heck no! But job satisfaction, yeah baby!

Leave a comment and tell us a little about your day. What makes it unique, special, dear to your heart. We will allow one lucky commenter to select an eBook from the 1Night Stand Series.
