Pushing Limits with Her Master’s Gift

 By Dena Celeste

Hello everyone! I’m so excited to be here. Today I’m going to talk about limits, as it’s something that features heavily in my new release, Her Master’s Gift. Limits are really important in relationships, but especially in BDSM dynamics. There are soft limits and hard limits, one which is allowed to be pushed and the other which is to be absolutely respected.
Soft limits are generally to be worked through. They can be things that scare you a bit, that you just don’t like (but don’t hate), or that you have no interest in but don’t care either way. I know that, for some, anal, flogging, and even whips make that list! The relationship style in Her Master’s Gift is Master/slave, where Sam is the Master, and Katie the slave. His primary role is to protect, but also to guide her and push her to her fullest sensual potential.
One of Katie’s soft limits is being with women, especially dominant women, after a previous experience scarred her. She’s bisexual, and very much appreciates women sexually, but the idea of being at another’s mercy is too much to handle. Well, to handle alone.
Part of what I loved about exploring her character and her journey is that she wasn’t by herself. There were steps she needed to take of her own volition, but the collar she’d earned, the master she belonged to, and her friends in the Lifestyle, all provided support for her to make her way. The community is so important to her story and her growth.
I find BDSM fascinating because trying new things is encouraged. There are lists of things to try, new skills to learn, and passions just waiting to be awakened. Testing the limits, seeing just how far you can push the envelope while still remaining within Safe, Sane, and Consensual boundaries, is part of the thrill.

What do you get an alien for Valentine's Day?

by Jessica E. Subject
With Valentine’s Day fast approaching, many are wracking their brain as to what type of gift to get for their lover. I know, I am. But, what if you have two blue aliens as your lovers? That’s the case for Tara, the veterinarian in Crash Landing who lives in the woods at the edge of a lake. She just happened to rescue the first alien when he washed up on the shore in her backyard. Another crash landed in the lake. Now, they are both her lovers, but she had a hard time deciding what to get them for Valentine’s Day.
She found key chains that say “I *heart* my alien husband”, but wanted something more personal for each of them. For Cael, she found a piece of his ship on the shore and had it encased in a glass box. For Mare, she ended up locating a glass helmet he could wear that filled with water and would allow him to stay on land for longer.

Giveaway!
What about you? What would you get for your alien lover on Valentine’s Day? Leave your answer in a comment below WITH YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS for your chance to WIN an ebook of Crash Landing! Must be 18 or older to enter.

Crash Landing
A story from The Edge
By Jessica E. Subject
Sci-Fi MMF Ménage Erotica
ISBN: 978-1613333884
As his ship plummets toward Earth, Cael believes his life to be over. His last ditch effort to save himself ends in a fiery crash. When he wakes up, he believes he’s entered the afterlife, but his surroundings indicate otherwise. He made it to Earth. But who saved him, and what do they want with him?

Available from:

Excerpt:
He rushed to the right, his rod too hard to wait. The slurping, sucking, and cries of pleasure continued as he reached the entrance behind which the action took place. The door ajar, he dared a quick glimpse into the room. With a gasp, he stepped back into the hall, but could not take his eyes off the sight in front of him.
With her rounded pink ass and swollen sex folds in full view, a woman went to work sucking off a man. The musky scent of her desire wound through his nasal passages and drew him closer. She rested on her hands and knees on a platform, while the guy kneeled in front of her. But unlike any beings he had ever seen on the vids of Earth, the guy had blue skin. Not his deep, almost indigo shade, but lighter, closer to the color of the water he’d landed in. Long blond hair flowed over his shoulders, onto his muscular chest.
The man held the woman’s shoulders with his webbed hands—yes, webbed hands—drawing her on and off his dick. “You have the mouth of an angel.” He threw his head back and thrust faster and faster between her lips.
The sight stimulated Cael. They weren’t trying to make babies; it seemed they were having sexual relations for pleasure. He yearned not only to bury his face in the wet pussy in front of him, but to taste the man’s blue dick, feel it inside of him. Back on Narien, he’d crafted his own devices made from the soft, flimsy bark of the totmos plant, to experience the pleasure both men and women felt in the stadium, why they cried out during mating, but never seemed injured. And learn he had, anxious to be ready when he reached his thirtieth year and was allowed to mate. He’d turned that age a half year ago, with no one on his ship to be his partner. Would he finally have an opportunity?
When the man lowered his head again, his brilliant blue eyes flashed open, fixing on Cael.
Oh shit. But he couldn’t move. He couldn’t stop watching.
The man slowed his movements to long drawn out strokes, but didn’t stop. “It seems our guest has finally woken up.”
“And?” the woman mumbled around his cock.
“He appears healed.” The man winked at him. “And from the hard-on he’s sporting, very anxious to join in.”

The Hypnotist

By Virginia Nelson

Have you ever been afraid to go after what you wanted? Maybe felt that with just one little nudge or a ‘ten seconds of bravery’ moment, you could accomplish what you wanted and make your dreams come true?
I gotta be honest…I’ve felt that way hundreds of times. Given the opportunity, for instance, at a lot of book conferences, I hide in my room. I got all stealth/ninja mode and lurk in corners, listening to conversations to see how people interact. I tell myself it is for my books, that it helps me write characters that are more real and who really feel something.
To be honest? I do this because I’m scared. I’m petrified I’m going to fumble, manage a social face plant—because I usually do—and ostracize myself. I think it was Mark Twain who said something about not saying anything being the better choice…since people might think you were stupid, but opening your mouth removed all doubt.
I took that idea and made a short, sexy story. What if a woman, afraid of living her life because she didn’t want to get hurt, was hypnotically suggested to do what she dared?
To find out what happened, I guess you would have to read a book, but what thing do you wish you dared to do?

Carnie Sabatina wants to quit smoking, but is a hypnotist really the answer? Enter Doctor McSexy and a trip down the rabbit hole that not only breaks her bad habit, but sets her passion on fire.

Michael Schommer's love life crashed and burned when his ex dumped him for his best friend. Is it too much to ask for a woman who wants to share more with him than a quick roll between the sheets?

About the Author
Virginia Nelson believed them when they said, “Write what you know.” Small town girl writing small town romance, her characters are as full of flaws, misunderstandings, and flat out mistakes as Virginia herself. When she’s not writing or plotting to take over the world, she likes to hang out with the greatest kids in history, play in the mud, drive far too fast, and scream at inanimate objects. Virginia likes knights in rusted and dinged up armor, heroes that snarl instead of croon, and heroines who can’t remember to say the right thing even with an author writing their dialogue. Her books are full of snark, sex, and random acts of ineptitude—not always in that order.

Writing Shifters in the F/F Genre

By Elizabeth Morgan

I don't believe there is a difference in formula when writing a heterosexual or GLBT story. I've heard that there aren't many GLBT stories about shifters, which seems crazy.
Can two female or two male shifters work/mate? Of course they can.
Shifters - or your human - romances/relationships are what they are. Relationships are complicated, hard work, and have highs and lows no matter what gender the couple are. Relationships between two men or two women only seem different - in real life and in fiction - because of society and how society acts toward them. At least, that's the opinion I have formed through learning our history, watching the news, and watching and listening to those around me.
Love isn't homophobic, or racist, or prejudice, or anything else you may want to throw in there. It is universal and knows no bounds, which is why I can't really sit here and say something interesting about writing an F/F shifter story. The formula is exactly the same as writing a story with two heterosexuals whether they be shifters or not.

On the Rocks is - and remains to be - the first F/F story I have written, but I hadn't planned for it to be a story with two leading ladies, and even though I wrote the book I never did, and still don't, focus upon the fact that it is an F/F story. The moment the idea popped into my head Meghan and Zenzie stepped forward, and I was cool with that. I never looked at them and thought, "huh, two women?" I just went with them on this little adventure, because it was their story, and I had so much fun writing it.
The inspiration behind the story was actually rather straightforward. I had already written two books - which are part of an ongoing series - featuring Werewolves - which you can read more about on my site: www.e-morgan.com - and since I adore all things paranormal and have a particular soft spot for shifters, I decided I wanted to try something different; something water related. So, I pulled out one of many encyclopaedias' sitting on my bookshelf, flicked through the pages and stopped when I read:
"The Nixie is a freshwater femme fatale amphibian."
Well, it was too much of a delicious statement to ignore. Once I had read the section, and Meghan and Zenzie had stepped forward the story just unfolded before me.
Now, On the Rocks isn't your stereotypical shifter story. When most people hear or read the word "shifter" it does conjure images of fur, fangs, and claws in some shape and variety, and not to mention the "M" word; mates. Shifters are all about soul mates. Those deep, raw, primal connections, which is the side - I believe - to such stories that appeals to us all because - no matter how much you may wish to deny it - we all, on a primal level, want to belong to someone and vice versa. I know I do. I'm not ashamed to say that I want intensity and passion mixed in with respect and tenderness, but I think that reason - the pull you sense between shifters once they find their mates - is the biggest attraction and lure of these particular creatures.
I could go on about such a matter, but I have to bite my tongue and stop there, because On the Rocks isn't actually about two shifters mating. Nor does it feature a shifter you would know a lot about.
(My Urban Fantasy/Erotic Paranormal Romance Series is full of mating issues and other delicious problems between various characters. So, when I started work on OTR I didn't want to write something that heavy and complicated, or rather, that was not how the idea for this story was presented. I wanted to write something fun. So the complexity of relationships is not something you will find in this book.)
On the Rocks is a story about a woman who falls prey to a very different kind of shifter who is just having fun in her own twisted 'n' sexy way. So, if you have a dark sense of humour; are open minded, and like your books hot with a twist, you might very well enjoy this story.

Thanks for joining me today. If you're interested in winning yourself a copy of On the Rocks - no harm in a Christmas present for yourself ;-P - just leave a comment to this post with your answer to this question: What do you like about Shifters/Shifter stories?

Competition will end midnight eastern time on December 4th.

BLURB:
On the Rocks is the hottest club on South Padre Island, and Meghan’s new workplace.
If the warped mermaid uniform isn’t enough, the fact that she can’t stop thinking about the club’s singer, Zenzie, is. Everything about the female gets Meghan hot, but when she finally gets her shot with the temptress, it turns out Zenzie isn’t as perfect, or as human, as Meghan thought.

And now, here's an excerpt for you:

Her warm breath skated down my neck causing a shiver to curl around my spine. She straightened then slid her hands through my hair. My eyelids fluttered at the feel of her fingertips stroking over my temples and along my hairline.
“I saw you watching us.”
I stared at her. “Excuse me?”
“Do you like watching?” She retrieved a few items from the vanity table, twisted two sections of my hair, and pushed the hair clips into place. “It’s all right. You can tell me, Meghan.”
My body tightened at the husky way she said my name. The knot between my legs pulsed under her piercing stare. I had no idea how, or even why she managed to get under my skin, but God, I wanted her.
“I’m not a pervert or anything.”
“I know you’re not.” She slid a chain of small red flowers into the black mass of my hair.
“I just heard a noise. I guess my curiosity got the best of me.” I shifted on my seat. “I’m sorry—”
“Don’t be. I liked you watching.”
My nails dug into my knees as her hands moved down my throat. Her skin like satin—her touch, soft. She ran her fingertips over the top of my breasts.
“I would have asked you to join us, if you hadn’t run.” Her gaze caught mine again while she slid her hand inside my skin-tone bra. “Will you run now, or will you do what we both know you want to do?”

You're Welcome

It’s that time again. The holidays.
I’m more of a spring and summer girl, m’self—a slave to warmth and sunshine. But I do love to sip hot chocolate while eating sugar cookies and watch the snow fall, as long as I don’t have to drive through the drifts of white. I have a strong affection for my Christmas tree and decorations, some of which I’ve had for decades. I don’t bother with outdoor lights because I’d be that person in the neighborhood who leaves the twinkling lights up all year. Yes, those are my people.
What else? Between Thanksgiving and New Year’s I get four days off work with pay. That’s a gift in itself. Which reminds me—GIFTS! Giving and receiving. There’s not a downside to gifts.
I haven’t even mentioned the food. But I will. Cookies, candy, and confections. Some of my favorite holiday traditions are included in Catered Affair, my Christmas story—lavish parties, yummy treats, hot sex and voyeurism. Rewind. What? Since when did hot sex and voyeurism become a treasured holiday tradition? Since now. You’re welcome.

Blurb:
When you mix a fresh picked coupling…
Caterers Chantal and Monty have been hired to handle Layton Industries’ annual Christmas party held at the couple’s penthouse apartment. With big dreams and very little money, they’re living on love.    With a freeze-dried relationship…
Steve and Alexa Layton find it difficult to connect anymore. They’ve spent so much energy and time on achieving financial security, they’ve forgotten what it feels like to be young and in love. When their flight is grounded during a snowstorm, it brings their disconnect to a boil…
   Toss in a little spice…
When Steve and Alexa catch their caterers’ after party romp via their online security camera, will it be the ingredient they need to repair their marriage?

Book Birthdays, Story Ideas and a Giveaway!

by Jessica E. Subject

This month, I’m celebrating three book birthdays, the third being this coming Sunday for Crash Landing, a sci-fi ménage erotica story that is part of Decadent’s The Edge line.
Now, some stories take me some time to come up with. I see a scene or hear a conversation in my head, and over time, I develop a story from there. With some lines, I’m given an idea, and I have to develop a story from there. Sometimes these can be very difficult for me. I usually end up getting stuck in a plot hole. But, Crash Landing started much the same way as my first published erotica story, The Power of Three, through an email conversation. I was finishing up edits on Satin Sheets in Space, and my editor for that story, Kate Richards, and I were joking around about the blue aliens in many of my stories.
The conversation started like this:

Kate: ...I was giggling thinking about your blue heroes.  You can make even blue dudes sexy. :)
Me: What do you mean? Blue dudes ARE sexy. LOL
Kate: You know I hear indigo is an especially hot color for outer space guys...not turquoise, NOOOO
Me: …yes, indigo is for space aliens. Turquoise is for underwater hunks. Oohh, new story idea. LOL
Kate (after a bunch of other emails that day): Can you submit the ms by dinnertime? Oops, it is dinnertime, ok you can write the next one by the morning
Me: What ms??
Kate: The indigo space guy,,,or the turquoise underwater guy!
Me: Oh, that ms. Well, it's going to have to go onto my list.
Kate: OMG, can you see the indigo space guy and the turquoise water guy doing the deed? Are the plot bunnies hopping?
Me: Yep, yep, yep... LOL
And so Crash Landing was born.

Giveaway!

Crash Landing
A story from The Edge
By Jessica E. Subject

Book Trailer:

Excerpt:
Cael gripped the cushioned arms of the captain’s chair as his ship tumbled bow over stern. The console flashed a blinding red in front of him. Piercing alarms drilled into his mind and he lost focus. The seconds raced by as he plummeted toward Earth. He’d fucked up this mission of peace. Contact with his home planet had ended months ago. No one from Narien could save him now. His death was imminent.
The water below wouldn’t soften his landing. At its current speed, his ship would disintegrate on splashdown. The planet’s gravity pulled him down faster.
He coughed; the acrid scent of fried electronics stung his nose and the back of his throat. Please let my death be quick.
A rattling to the left caught his attention above all other noise. The handle on the cabin door shook. Freedom. It wasn’t his time to die, if he could get out.
The altimeter on the dashboard read six thousand meters, high enough to jump and land safely with his chute. Only to land in frigid water and die of exhaustion or hypothermia from treading without any hope of a rescue.
“Shit.” But he’d die if he stayed. He had to take the chance. Yanking off his safety harness, he pulled himself to standing and strained to reach the recess where his pack hung. Stretching up, he fingered the cloth strap. Not close enough to grab hold of it.
The ship jolted and flung him to the stern. He weaved his arm through the straps of the pack on his way past, dislodging it from the hook. Yes.
His triumph was short-lived as he flew starboard, smashing his shoulder against the wall. He groaned when an electrifying spasm shot down his arm to the tips of his fingers. The ship lurched again, and he tumbled back toward the console. He grabbed the door, his feet dangling in mid air. If he didn’t get out now, he’d forfeit any chance to survive.
The ship righted again. He planted his feet against the bottom of the door and twisted the crank. The latch snapped open, filling him with a sense of hope. Careful to keep at least one hand on the handle at all times, he slung the pack over his shoulders.
All set. Time to jump. Pushing off the floor, he slammed his uninjured shoulder against the door. It blew open and tore away from its hinges, lost to the sky.
Cael teetered on the edge before plunging out of his failing ship. Wind whipped all around him as he twisted to catch his bearing during freefall.
Glancing down, he spied crystal blue lake, much closer than he’d expected. Too close.
He jerked the cord on his chute–several hundred feet lower than he should have. At least. His feet skimmed the cold waves just as his chute caught the current and heaved him back into the air.
The ship splashed into the water beside him, disintegrating into millions of pieces. He raised his hands in front of his face as shrapnel flew at him. Tiny shards sliced into his arms and legs, but the extreme heat from the cloud of steam billowing up at him stung the most.
From the moment his toes touched down in the once frigid water, his skin sizzled. He screamed in agony. His death would have been quicker and less agonizing if he’d remained in the ship.
A hard piece of his spacecraft smashed down on his head, and he welcomed the darkness.

Make Mine a Hero

By Kelli Scott

No, I’m not talking about a sandwich, although, those are pretty good too, and as I write this it is lunchtime. But I’m wondering what makes a great romance hero. I guess the magic combo is different for everyone. Make mine tall, dark and handsome.
Start with your average man off the street. Subtract a few inches from his waistline and add it to his chest dimensions. Give him a couple inches vertically and two more behind his zipper, please. Remove the thick, dark hair from his back and affix it to the top of his head instead. We might want to shave a few years off his age, but not off his five-o’clock shadow. Our hero wakes up looking damn good without even trying. Let’s lose the bounce in his step and make that a sexy swagger. A limp if he’s one of those tortured heroes.
I don’t know about you but my “real” guy has an affliction called if-I-think-it-I-will-say-it, especially if it is the wrong place and a worst time. So our hero will be a man of few words. When he does open his mouth it’s to say something incredibly insightful, sexy or amusing. Or for one of those soulful kisses we long for. Yep, that. Everything else he can just convey with body language, facial expressions or with some animalistic sound effects. Grrr….
In reality I lean towards short, skinny, bald guys who wear glasses and make me laugh, in and out of bed. How ‘bout you? What’s your perfect hero (real or fictitious) made of?
I suppose I should do some promo for… Fun with Rick and Jade. I love this couple. My hero is sort of an alpha-nerdish computer geek.

Blurb:
Jade Li only wants what’s coming to her from her high profile baby daddy—some child support and she’ll stay out of his life and off his radar. Committed to being a good mother, she’s left her high priced call girl lifestyle behind and wants a fresh start. But because of her sordid past, she’s terrified of losing custody. What she needs, according to her attorney, is a husband.
Enter Rick Jette, younger brother to Jade’s attorney. Rick could use a wife and child for a business deal his future hinges on. Plus he owes his brother a huge favor that not even marrying a sexy ex-call girl could repay. Marriage is not what he’d expected. At. All. The good was better than he’d ever dreamed as they play house. The bad turns out to be worse than he could even imagine when he starts to have feelings for his new family.

Excerpt:
Rick Jette pushed the doorbell firmly. He heard it chime in some stately arrangement. Ding-dong-ding. His brother Bob thankfully called out, “I got it!” Thankfully, because Rick never knew what to say to Bob’s wife, Candy.
First of all, she was gorgeous. Second of all, she wasn’t too bright except about fashion, celebrity gossip, and proper martini mixology. Lastly, Rick couldn’t look her in the eyes, especially knowing she used to be a hooker. Correction—escort. Don’t want to make that mistake again. Note to self: avoid the subject of prostitution.
The door opened. Bob smiled wide. “Bro.”
Two things Bob had lots of, money and teeth. Rick wasn’t sure he came by either honestly. He’d probably brokered some back-alley deal in exchange for veneers.
His brother was ten years older than Rick. The only things they had in common were a mother and a last name, because their mom never married either of their fathers. She did eventually marry a guy Rick and Bob both referred to as Dickhead, but the union never stuck like the name had. Even their mom called him Dickhead. The nail in the coffin of the doomed marriage. With a marital example like Mom, it was a wonder either son could make a relationship last longer than a one-night stand.
“Bob,” Rick replied. They hugged, including a manly back pat.
When they broke apart, Bob shoved the door closed and waved him along. “Girls are in the kitchen.”
Girls? He swallowed a lump that lodged in his throat.
What choice did he have but to follow? Looking back toward the closed door, it felt too late to run. He’d brought with him his appetite and a bottle of wine he clutched by the neck. Home cooking did not happen every day, at least not in his world. In the kitchen, the aroma of roasted garlic mixed with a lemony scent. Add cooking to Candy’s repertoire. Go figure.
She greeted him with a double-cheek kiss. “Jade, meet Rick.” She waved her hand elegantly in the direction of what looked to him like living, breathing perfection. “Rick, this is my friend Jade. She’s staying with us temporarily.”
“Pleasure.” She bobbed her head in his general direction, but her tone denoted boredom along with annoyance and a hint of dread as well.
