In a month and a day, my first release
with Decadent Publishing, This Time Next Year, (which is also my first solo release EVAH) will be celebrating its
first book birthday, and for a book that I literally wrote on a lark, thinking
it’d never be accepted, it’s pretty darn exciting.
It also drove me nuts. Being a
first-time author—and sometimes, I still feel like a first-time author—the
process was nowhere near painless. A lot of time, author sweat, and agonized
emails went into this book. My first edits looked like a bowl of Trix. And so
did my second edits, actually. But I couldn’t be more proud of my Little Book
that Could.
So to celebrate, I’ll
give away a $15 Amazon gift card to a lucky commenter. Just let me know your
favorite vampire story/myth by midnight and I’ll choose a winner!
About This Time Next
Year:
Vampire Kiernan Shaw has never forgotten the
night twenty years ago when he’d been forced to stand by while another vampire
killed a six-year-old girl’s parents in front of her. He’s spent the better
part of the last two decades watching over her, protecting her and hoping for an
opportunity to make amends one day.
Ever since surviving the vampire attack that killed her parents, Moira Curran has dealt with the resulting nightmares and abandonment issues the only way she could—by throwing herself into her biochemistry career, preferring a life of a hermit in her lab to facing the reality of her lonely life.
Madame Eve brings them back together for one fateful night. An immediate bond of sizzling chemistry and respect forms, but can it heal her fears and his guilt?

Praise for TTNY:
A great read to have in any collection and one that will always
make you smile.

There are three things that I've come to expect from a 1Night
Stand novella: a compelling storyline, hot sex and super likable characters
that make me wish the novella was just a chapter or two longer. This
Time Next Year didn't
disappoint me.

This sweet, beautiful, sensual, love story is a short, quick read but leaves you with a warm fuzzy impression.

Happy Upcoming Book Birthday, Cate!!
I have always been a fan of Barnabas Collins from Dark Shadows. :)
Ooh this still looks like a really cool book to me! I must read it!
Interview with a vampire has always been. Face of mine.
I am and will forever be a fan of Dracula. Dracula taking his lady away to Transylvania to marry her?!? Darn right!! It was a prior generation's Twilight with no Jacob.
Mary, Interview has always been one of my favorites, too. And Lestat's book is just fantastic. He's truly one of my all-time favorite characters.
Eva, thank you! I'd love to know what you think ;)
Jessica, I used to read the Dark Shadows novels when I was in high school. Looooooooooooved Barnabas.
Thanks for commenting, ladies!
Nik, I wish we could have no Jacob lol. And no Edward. And no Bella. But that's neither here nor there.
According to random.org, our winner is Nikki! Congrats!
