A little bit of literary fiction is easy to do, so why not
add some more? That’s what crazy authors do when we concoct stories out of thin
air. We mix and match. We add a dash of spice. We shake it up and see if it
strikes our fancy. Realism *not* required.
In Perfect Ride, we have what I like to call a perfect storm
of crazy + sexy. We’ve got two hot guys – one a cowboy, the other a bull rider
– who are both lonely and gay. Okay, that’s not too crazy, right? I mean,
there’s plenty of single gay guys out there. The question to answer was, how do
they meet? Why, on the professional bull riding (PBR) circuit, of course!
After a little flirting, after a little sex, that’s when
things take the one-way train ride to crazytown:
Cole’s shot!
Spitfire’s been drugged!
The clown’s missing….
Cole’s ex-boyfriend threatens Garrett.
Garrett takes a career-ending ride…
If this sounds like a recipe for disaster, you’re right! But
don’t worry, it all turns out okay in the end. It’s getting there that’s half
the fun and Cole and Garrett, though separated, never really lose that
connection in their hearts.
And there’s sure nothing crazy about that!
Professional bull rider
Garrett Anderson lives for the next town, the next trophy and his next ride.
When he rolls into Sheridan, Wyoming, the last thing he expected was to meet a
cowboy like Cole—a man who corrals his heart and leaves him aching for the kind
of love he’s been missing.
A bull tender on the
PBR circuit Cole Richards secretly longs for a lover but wasn’t prepared for
Garrett’s passion or the longing their one brief tryst kindles. After he is shot and recovering in his
hospital bed, Cole can only watch Garrett’s disastrous ride afraid it could be
his last. Heartbroken when the battered and bruised bull rider leaves town,
Cole knows better than to hope to see him again.
Attacked again and
knee-deep in trouble, Cole wants only Garrett at his side. But can his bull
rider trade fame and fortune for a lifetime with his one perfect ride?
And here’s a super sexy excerpt that takes place before all
the crazy happens:
Garrett ducked his head and submitted to Cole’s
exploration. His words had come out more forcefully than he would have liked.
No point surrendering state secrets over one tryst in a trailer. But God,
Cole’s shirt was warm and soft. He smelled like man and work–his two favorite
scents. And that tongue of his was driving him mad. “Let’s make a different
bet, okay? I bet I can get naked faster.”
Cole chuckled. “What does the winner get?”
“A two-day-old flat beer.”
“Not much incentive….”
“No. I guess I’ll just have to lose then.”
Wearing a wolfish grin, he unsnapped Cole’s jeans and slid them down his long
legs nice and slow. The man wore blue, cotton low-rise briefs. Too low. The
head of his cock peeked out above the waistband. He licked his lips. “Mmm, I think
I like losing.” He leaned forward to kiss Cole again and Cole’s fingers went to
work on the snaps of his shirt. Before the kiss was done, Cole had Garrett’s
jeans unbuttoned as well. He hovered there poised over Cole, pinning him down
with his hips, as the man ran his hands over every curve of his torso. He
flexed his chest and arm muscles, showing off a body he hoped would please.
Cole’s hands never rested, covering every inch of his skin, turning it from
lukewarm to hot. Aroused, with his nipples hardened to sensitive buds, he gazed
down lustfully at Cole’s awed expression and tried not to come in his jeans.
“Jesus, you’re ripped.” His hands made another
thorough survey, his gaze following.
He shivered under the scrutiny but was unwilling
to move and end it. “You like?”
Cole’s smile widened. “You’re perfect.”
