By Chastity Bush
Hello,
everyone, and thanks for having me here today!
For those of
you who don’t know me, I’m Chastity Bush, (yes, that’s my real name) and I’m
the author of several romance novels. I’m a wife, and the mother of two great
girls.
Thanks to my
husband, I discovered that writing is my true passion, and I currently have
several projects in the works, including a sequel to my hot western romance,
Tumbleweeds.
I received so
many great reviews, and so many wonderful reader comments for Tumbleweeds that
I’ll never be able to thank all of you readers enough.
I get asked
all of the time if I have any tips or advice for aspiring/new authors, and I
certainly do!
First of all,
don’t write what’s hot at the moment. Write what you love, because what’s hot
today, most likely won’t be hot tomorrow.
Don’t emulate
someone else’s work. You have an imagination, use it!
Always
research who you’re submitting your work to. Believe it or not, not all
publishers, agents, and editors have your best interest at heart.
And last but
certainly not least, don’t write for money. If you start writing with the idea
of becoming rich and famous, you’re going to be horribly disappointed. Write
because you love it. Write because others love books. Write because it’s your
passion.
I sincerely
hope this helps any of you who have question. Thanks for stopping by and taking
the time to check out my rambling. Also, I have a brand new blog/official
website you can check out. There you’ll find a lot of reviews from some awesome
authors, a page dedicated to my books, and reviews, and much, much, more!
I hope to hear
from some of you soon!
Have a
fantastic day!

Rich and famous - oh yes, I can feel it in reach - NOT! Some good advice there Chastity!! I think if people really want to write, they just have to keep trying and doing it and hoping. But send the stories in - they won't get accepted sitting on your hard drive.
Don't we all dream of being rich and famous? :)
You're right. You have to try, but not be expectant of having anything handed to you. I write because I love it. Others should, too. :)
