Finding Happiness

 by Heather Kuehl

Dear Readers,

The idea for my book Epiphany began several years before my short book was published, when I finished a short story entitled “Struck by Beauty.” It introduced me to Mika, a general for the Unseelie army and a very unlikely king. I felt bad for him, after all the crown came with a hefty price, and all I wanted was for him to be happy. It took a while to figure out how.

As an author, sometimes I don’t have a choice on how the story goes. I tried several times to give him the happiness I thought he deserved, and every time the story didn’t go the way I wanted it to. Finally, Mika and I discovered Everlena. She was in a very old story I had written, a secondary character with some magic. I was taking a break from my other works and decided to go through those old manuscripts to see if I could find anything worth working on. The second I finished reading through Everlena’s short scenes I could feel the tug of my Muse. Before I knew it, I had written the first chapter of what would become Epiphany.

Siren’s Song Reviews said this about Epiphany: "It is an extremely entertaining read that keeps you sucked in and before you know it you see The End. This book was a tease! It tells you just enough so you're not lost and leaves you with wanting to know more."

Just the Facts Friday

While it was difficult to do, here are five things that most people don’t know about me.

I love watching Hoarders, especially if I have to clean my house. Five minutes in and I’m scrubbing my house until it’s glowing.

Much likes Gibbs on NCIS, I believe that everyone should have a code that they live by. Like Gibbs, I have rules. I don’t share them unless you break them, though.

I have ten tattoos and nine piercings, and plans for many more. I love body art. Next I want an industrial piercing for my right ear.

While I usually listen to heavy metal, I love Taylor Swift. I can’t help but dance and sing when I hear her songs. Oh, and she’s just too cute!

I am afraid of needles. Before I had my son I used to freak out before having my blood drawn. Now I still get nervous, but not so freaked anymore. And yes, I am afraid of needles yet I have tattoos.

3-Way Thursday according to Heather

By: Heather Kuehl

I’m thankful for my son. Every day he shows me something new though his innocent eyes, and it’s so much fun to see the world as he does.

I’m thoughtful about writing. I mean, what writer isn’t? LOL But with so many books due to be released this year and so many works in progress nearing completion, it’s hard not to think about what is going to happen next.

I’m thirsty for my Mt. Dew. I’ve had my love affair with this particular beverage for over a decade and while I’ve tried to quit, I don’t think I’ll be letting it go any time soon.

Thursday, 3 ways with...

Heather Kuehl

I am thankful for my fans. They are what keep me going when times get rough, especially when my Muse doesn’t want to cooperate. Thank you!

I am thoughtful about my father. Fifteen years ago this month he passed away, and I’ve thought about him every day since. Fair winds and following seas…

I am thirsty for romance. I love writing paranormal romance, and I’m always thirsty for a new romantic adventure with hot, delectable characters.
