I sense a theme! You must check out Grey Eye Glances and their song, Angel. Trust me. http://www.greyeyeglances.com/DiscoverGEG/listen/index.html

I guess music inspires us all. I like movie soundtracks, like Last of the Mohicans, love that, and
then I like old rock and roll. Or classic as they call it now.

Music is a great inspiration of many things. I'm nearly deaf so it really touches me at times to hear good music. I appreicate it, and hope I never get to where I can't hear it.

Great list, hon.

Nessum Dorma is the fave classical song, I must say.

Arms of the Angels makes me cry. So does Hero because of its 9/11 connection. I will never EVER forget Enrique singing it on the 9/11 charity telecast. I was bawling (may have had something to do with the post-pregnancy hormones, now that I think of it!)

I LOVE that you have Metallica, Shrek and James Taylor on the same list. FABULOUS!

Sweet soundtrack :) I saw Train live in MN -- they rocked da house BIG time. Really engaged the audience.

Where do I begin with these comments?

Well, first, thanks Hales! These are some of my headliners, although there are so many more. BUT, had to think about the music I connected with my books, so...

Second,Redameter, music is a healer. It grounds us, offers us escape, and expresses our thoughts when we are at a loss for our own words.

Third, Leanne and JoAnne, thanks for swinging by! I'm jealous, JoAnne! LOL I've got such a crush on Pat. Yum!

Finally, DP, eerie how the first time you heard Enrique sing Hero was the SAME TIME I heard it! I bawled my freakin' eyes out and have been haunted by that song ever since. Nessun Dorma... another tear-jerker for me. It literally moves me. As you've noted, I do have quite the eclectic taste in music. You never know what's gonna come out of my MP3 player! lol

Thanks for sharing such a wonderful mix of music, Deena. I, m listening to them and love it! Music is so inspiring! Calling All Angels is my favorite.

I adore Roberta Flack, The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face. Above and beyond all others as the most haunting, moving, sensual song. Ironic that the original author of it dislikes her version. Oh well, can't please them all!

Oh, I LOVE Train!! And another one I like to write to is Evanesence. But my favorite CDs are usually country artist Jason Aldean. Love your post!!

What an eclectic mix, but great artists, all of them. When I write, I prefer to have Directv xm on the country station, down low. Just something in the background that I can decide to listen to or relegate to white noise.
If I get tired of that, I play the 'Hello World' by Lady antebellum or 'Farmer's Daught' by Crystal Bowersox. You need to listen to that one. Very poignant.

Hey Chelle! I love Evanesence, too. :) Thanks sweetie! Love seeing you here. :D

Thanls for the recommendation, JM. I loved Crystal when she was on AI. Such a soulful voice. Actually, when I write, I can have no music, so attuned to the melody and lyrics that it's distracting. However, when I'm revising and editing, gotta have it! LOL
